The word of \u201cGod\u201d is coming to late-night television.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Charlamagne tha God is bringing the holy trinity of comedy, culture and social<\/a> consciousness to Comedy Central with a new talk show, \u201cTha God\u2019s Honest Truth.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The weekly broadcast, executive produced by Stephen Colbert, 57, is set for debut Sept. 17 at 10 p.m. EST. Filming will take place in New York City.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the show I\u2019ve always wanted to do,\u201d said Charlamagne, 43, while announcing the\u00a0forthcoming project on his syndicated radio morning show \u201cThe Breakfast Club\u201d Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cTha God\u2019s Honest Truth\u201d will revolve around Charlamagne, real name Lenard McKelvey, and his \u201cculturally fluent take on social issues,\u201d per Variety<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The half-hour program will also feature sketches, interviews and social experiments.<\/p>\n

But when Charlamagne\u2019s radio co-hosts tried prodding him for spoilers on his upcoming show this week, the usually unbridled broadcaster refused to spill the beans.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Instead, the former on-air attach\u00e9 to multimedia personality Wendy Williams, 57, simply responded to probes with a vague, \u201cI can show you better than I can tell you.\u201d<\/p>\n

But a press announcement offered fans more details, dubbing the show \u201credemptively comedic, refreshingly unfiltered, and unapologetically Black\u201d with nothing \u201coff-limits.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlamagne\u2019s Comedy Central debut marks Colbert\u2019s return to the network since his satirically political \u201cThe Colbert Report\u201d ended in 2014.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The comedians, both hailing from South Carolina, have enjoyed a working relationship since Charlamagne first appeared on Colbert\u2019s \u201cLate Show\u201d in 2016.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I can feel it!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Rachael Edwards, producer and showrunner of \u201cNick Cannon Presents: Wild \u2019N Out,\u201d and \u201cThe Boondocks\u201d creator Aaron McGruder will join Colbert as executive producers.<\/p>\n
