The chips are no longer down for Frito-Lay workers, who voted to accept a new contract after a 20-day strike \u2014 even though their union-management recommended against it, according to a report.<\/p>\n

The new agreement gives members of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers union a 4 percent pay hike over two years, and guarantees workers at least one day off a week, according to the Topeka Capitol-Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

More than 500 workers walked off the job at the company\u2019s Topeka, Kansas, plant earlier this month, with many noting what they called unrelenting work conditions.<\/p>\n

The factory workers claimed they were forced into incessantly long hours, and were forced to keep at it even when an employee died on the job \u2014 a charge the company denied.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
