A viral video shows a local news<\/a> reporter in Rochester being harassed by a man as she and her crew get ready to go live on the air.<\/p>\n

Spectrum News Rochester\u2019s Brianna Hamblin posted the \u201cdisgusting\u201d encounter with the man, who proceeded to uncomfortably comment on Hamblin\u2019s app<\/a>earance while she was attempting to do her job.<\/p>\n

The video, which has been viewed nearly 5 million times<\/a> on Twitter<\/a>, shows Hamblin setting up a shot when a man, who never appears on camera, asks to not be filmed. The cameraman and Hamblin assure him they are not yet rolling.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou look really nice, though,\u201d a first man says, before continuing on.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you,\u201d Hamblin says politely.\u00a0But a second onlooker took it to another level.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou beautiful as hell. God damn,\u201d he says, as Hamblin clearly becomes more uncomfortable on camera.<\/p>\n

He asks her why she\u2019s on camera, to which she politely and professionally replies, \u201cWatch Spectrum News, you can find out. Go find a TV and watch Spectrum News. And you can find out.\u201d She tells him what channel he can find the segment on.<\/p>\n

However, the man persists with his increasingly sexual remarks.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlright. We are done here,\u201d Hamblin says. \u201cHave a great rest of your day.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are sexy as f\u2013k,\u201d the man says, before finally walking away.<\/p>\n

The camera zooms in on Hamblin\u2019s clearly stunned face.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh my God,\u201d she says, incredulously, as the video ends.<\/p>\n

Hamblin posted a thread on Twitter responding to the encounter.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing hit on and harassed as a woman, especially as a woman reporter out in the field, happens so often you learn how to roll with it or ignore it,\u201d she wrote. \u201cThis time it happened to be recorded only seconds before my hit. There are A LOT of things wrong with this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Twitter users praised Hamblin\u2019s composure throughout the encounter and offered their support.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou handled it admirably, lady. Sorry that was the start to your day,\u201d Soledad O\u2019Brien offered in a tweet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The video has opened a dialogue on how women are treated and deal with uncomfortable situations, both professionally and publicly.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople think that when we smile in uncomfortable situations means we are OK with what is happening at that moment,\u201d user DelRose 30 said. \u201c On the contrary, we are trying to deescalate the situation and walk away with our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe visible discomfort and the all too familiar forced coddling in hopes the situation doesn\u2019t escalate was heartbreaking. Women should not have to endure this just to do their job,\u201d another user added.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
