“#Dead body found floating in Central Park’s Harlem Meer<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

A dead man was found floating in the Harlem Meer in Central Park Saturday evening, according to police sources.<\/p>\n

Police responded to the scene near the Boathouse after a woman called 911 around 7 p.m., and told cops she saw the unidentified man floating in the water, the sources said.<\/p>\n

Footage from the park shows police gathered near the water\u2019s edge behind police tape while onlookers stand in the distance. <\/p>\n

The dead man, identified only as a black man in his 40s, was pulled from the lake and declared dead at the scene around 7:15 p.m., the sources said.<\/p>\n

The medical examiner\u2019s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.<\/p>\n

The Meer, in the northeast portion of the park, is a popular destination for visitors and tourists to the historic green space.<\/p>\n

Police remain at the scene Saturday night.<\/p>\n

The NYPD did not immedia<\/a>tely respond to a request for comment on the incident.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
