Ahead of the revised version of the final Evangelion<\/strong><\/em> film launching on Amazon Prime Video around the world on August 13, the streaming service on Saturday at\u00a0[email\u00a0protected] 2021 released<\/span><\/a> a brand new English-subbed preview of Evangelion 3.0+1.01: Thrice Upon a Time<\/strong><\/em>, showing the opening titles of the film with Shinji, Rei (tentative), and Asuka walking through the impact-scared landscape of what used to be Japan.<\/p>\n

Evangelion 3.0+1.0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>finally opened in Japan after being delayed twice due to the coronavirus pandemic on March 8,\u00a0breaking<\/span><\/a>\u00a0franchise records on the first day and eventually\u00a0becoming the highest-grossing film<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in the franchise in Japan in less than a month,\u00a0then the\u00a0highest-grossing worldwide<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in 35 days, and finally the 9th highest-grossing anime<\/a> film in Japan of all-time. It is the\u00a0longest film<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in the franchise (not including compilations or special screenings). The film finished in Japan on July 21, grossing\u00a010.22 billion yen ($91.84 million) at the Japanese box office to be the 35th highest-grossing film<\/span><\/a> in the region.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

An updated version of the film,\u00a0Evangelion 3.0+1.01<\/strong><\/em>, was released in Japanese theaters on June 12.\u00a0Evangelion 3.0+1.01: Thrice Upon a Time<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0will stream on Amazon Prime Video in 240 countries, including Japan, with English subtitles and dubbed\u00a0from August 13.<\/p>\n
