You can even create schedules for your lights to run on specific days and times. Today, we\u2019ll show you how.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Which_Lights_Can_You_Schedule_with_Alexa\"><\/span>Which Lights Can You Schedule with Alexa?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Not sure whether your lights will work with Alexa? You can, in fact, schedule any lights with Alexa, even if they\u2019re not smart devices. This includes s<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a> lights and bulb lights.<\/p>\n<p>If your lights aren\u2019t smart devices, you\u2019ll need to plug them into a smart plug that\u2019s connected to Alexa.\u00a0You\u2019ll then need to schedule the smart plug\u00a0with Alexa or an Alexa-powered device such as the Amazon Echo.<\/p>\n<p>If your lights are smart devices, see whether they support Alexa.\u00a0You\u2019ll know that a smart light supports Alexa if you find\u00a0\u201cAlexa compatible,\u201d \u201cSupports Alexa,\u201d \u201cWorks with Alexa,\u201d or something similar on the packaging or product de<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a>ion. You can then follow the steps in the next section to schedule your lights.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike with regular lights, you can often schedule your smart lights without Alexa or an Alexa-powered device. Instead, when you purchase smart lights,\u00a0you can use the manufacturer\u2019s app to set up schedules. However, you\u2019ll need to check the app to confirm that scheduling is supported.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Schedule_Lights_with_Alexa\"><\/span>How to Schedule Lights with Alexa<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To schedule your lights with Alexa, make sure that they\u2019re connected in the Alexa app on your smartphone or tablet. Make sure that you can find them\u00a0by tapping \u201cDevice\u201d at the bottom of the app, followed by \u201cLights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To start scheduling, head to the Alexa app and tap the \u201cMore\u201d tab at the bottom of the screen. From here, select\u00a0\u201cWhen This Happens,\u201d and then tap \u201cSchedule.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Scheduling_at_a_Set_Time_of_Day\"><\/span>Scheduling at a Set Time of Day<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If you want to schedule your lights to turn on at a specific time, use the \u201cAt Time\u201d option.<\/p>\n<p>You can choose the days on which you want to schedule your lights under \u201cRepeat.\u201d All the days will be selected in black by default. Look for the lights that you wish to schedule and tap on the name. Your lights might have various features, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Power:<\/strong> Turns your lights on or off.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Brightness:\u00a0<\/strong>Changes the brightness of your lights.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Set color:\u00a0<\/strong>Changes the color of your lights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-738218\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Smart-light-features.jpg?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"Smart light features\" width=\"400\" height=\"470\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Depending on your lights, you could only have the Power feature. You\u2019ll see all the available features that your light offers in the Alexa app. To keep things simple, we\u2019ll only be showing you how to schedule your lights to turn on and off.<\/p>\n<p>To schedule your lights to turn on, tap the \u201cPower\u201d option. Then, tap the toggle switch, ensuring that it says \u201cOn.\u201d (The switch will turn blue.) Scroll to the bottom and select the \u201cWait\u201d action. The Wait action\u00a0sets delays between your actions. For longer delays, add multiple Wait actions. Once you\u2019re done creating your routine, tap \u201cSave\u201d in the upper-right corner.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Scheduling_at_Sunrise_or_Sunset\"><\/span>Scheduling at Sunrise or Sunset<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>To schedule your lights to turn on at sunrise or sunset, use\u00a0either the \u201cSunrise\u201d or \u201cSunset\u201d options instead of the \u201cSet Time\u201d option. Your sunrise and sunset times will depend on where you\u2019re located.<\/p>\n<p>From here, you can follow the same steps that are listed in the above\u00a0section.
