The <strong>Stephen King<\/strong> adaptation from director\u00a0<strong>Frank Darabont<\/strong>\u00a0opened in 1994. While the movie would go on to score some Oscar nominations, it was actually a box office dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointment. Thankfully,\u00a0<em>Shawshank<\/em> eventually found its audience on home video.<\/p>\n<p>At some point, I feel like it became cool to declare disdain for\u00a0<em>The Shawshank Redemption<\/em>. I don\u2019t have the data to back this up, but I\u2019m pretty sure the backlash against the movie came from its constant rotation on cable. It ended up earning itself a \u201cdad movie\u201d monicker, and folks turned up their noses. This is slightly ironic, because\u00a0<em>Shawshank<\/em> was not a hit when it opened, and it was only due to home video and TV airings that the movie became truly popular.<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->I\u2019m not sure what the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> consensus on the movie is now, but I remain a fan. It\u2019s a thoughtful, well-made drama with great performances and a killer musical score \u2013 it\u2019s also one of the best Stephen King adaptations. And while it\u2019s not your typical King adaptation, but it still captures his voice and storytelling prowess.<\/p>\n<p>Now,\u00a0<em>The Shawshank Redemption<\/em>\u00a0is headed our way on 4K Blu-ray and digital release.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>The Shawshank Redemption<\/em> \u201ctells the story of Andy Dufresne (<strong>Tim Robbins<\/strong>), a prominent banker unjustly convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment at Maine\u2019s Shawshank Prison. He is befriended by longtime convict Red (<strong>Morgan Freeman<\/strong>) who\u2019s been in long enough to know the ropes and helps him cope with the frightening realities of prison life.
