future products. <\/p>\n<p> Intel<br \/>\n        INTC,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/203649727\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+2.47%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       shares dropped more the 3% in after-hours trading as the company\u2019s conference call progressed, and were down 2.5% by the end of the call, following a 2.5% rise to close the regular session at $54.31. In comparison, the Dow Jones Industrial Average<br \/>\n        DJIA,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210598065\/realtime\" class=\"positive\">+0.24%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       \u2014 which counts Intel as a component \u2014 rose 0.2% on Monday. <\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       Intel said it is changing how it refers to its semiconductors, breaking with the convention used since 1997 of using nanometers, or \u201cnm,\u201d to denote the size of each transistor that goes on a computer chip, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> rule being that smaller transistors are faster and more efficient in using power. Intel delayed release of its 7-nm chip out to late 2022 last year, after smaller rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc.<br \/>\n        AMD,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/208144392\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-0.36%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       started rolling out its 7-nm chip in the summer of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuilding on Intel\u2019s unquestioned leadership in advanced packaging, we are accelerating our innovation road map to ensure we are on a clear path to process performance leadership by 2025,\u201d Pat Gelsinger, Intel\u2019s chief executive, said on the call.<\/p>\n<p>Intel said it would start producing its \u201cIntel 7\u201d chip in the first quarter of 2022, with the \u201cIntel 4\u201d scheduled for production in the second half of 2022, and the \u201cIntel 3\u201d being produced in the second half of 2023.<\/p>\n<p>From there, Intel plans the \u201cIntel 20A\u201d and \u201cIntel 18A\u201d chips for early 2025, where the \u201cA\u201d refers to angstrom, which is a tenth of a nanometer.
