According to the official statement, Solana <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/solana_india\/status\/1419917201641934849\"><\/a><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/solana_india\/status\/1419917201641934849\">plans<\/a>\u00a0to launch the 3-week long event in collaboration with Devfolio and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a> influencer Superpumped.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Solana\u2019s announcement consists of a free and open invitation to \u201cstudents, Web2 &amp; Web3 developers, engineers and anyone looking to get into crypto organized in collaboration.\u201d The move towards involving India\u2019s open source community in crypto may be surprising to those aware of ongoing resistance against Bitcoin (BTC) from mainstream Indian banks such as ICICI. The last date for <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lying for the hackathon is 12 Aug.<\/p>\n<p>Crowning hackathons as the birthplace of crypto startups, Solana stated:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIf you\u2019re an ambitious engineer or developer in India looking to build something, this is the skyhook you\u2019re looking for.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition to the cash prizes from a pool of $80,000, winning participants will get to raise capital from Solana Foundation and prominent global investors. This initiative also sees the involvement of prominent crypto figures and entrepreneurs, including former Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan, seed investor Chris McCann and CRED founder Kunal Shah.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While the hackathon will use Solana\u2019s global public chain to deploy crypto apps, Cointelegraph has reached out to Solana to understand India\u2019s stance on such initiatives.
