Before we move on to the stuff you should know, let\u2019s observe a moment of silence for what was probably the \u201clast\u201d earnings call he\u2019d participate in for the company.<\/span><span class=\"c-mrkdwn__br\" data-stringify-type=\"paragraph-break\"\/><\/p>\n<p><span>That\u2019s from Musk himself, who cited that \u201cmost likely [he] will not be on earnings calls.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"c-mrkdwn__br\" data-stringify-type=\"paragraph-break\"\/><span>Right, with that out of the way, let\u2019s get into it.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_More_than_1_billion_in_profit\"><\/span>1. More than $1 billion in profit<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span>Tesla reported $1.14 billion in (GAAP) net income for the Q2 of 2021 \u2014 the first time it has surpassed $1 billion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The automaker\u2019s revenue jumped to\u00a0<span>$11.96 billion from $6.04 billion year-over-year, while the profit per share rose to $1.45, exceeding analyst expectations by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.refinitiv.com\/en\/?utm_content=Refinitiv%20Brand%20Core-CEE-EMEA-G-EN-BMM&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_source=google&amp;utm_campaign=434508_PaidSearchEN&amp;elqCampaignId=13781&amp;utm_term=%20+refinitiv&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQjw3f6HBhDHARIsAD_i3D-ybNoitYbo7FR7RPb8XtAWnzBQ3NgzfryDvASCWZNdHVD_gJLZKRYaAiQcEALw_wcB&amp;gclsrc=aw.ds\">Refinitiv<\/a>, who had foreseen a profit of 98 cents per share.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The ten-fold increase in revenue, however, isn\u2019t the only impressive outcome.<\/p>\n<p><span>Tesla\u2019s profitability has previously relied on selling environmental regulatory credits to other automakers. Now, for the first time since the end of 2019, the firm\u2019s financial\u00a0gain was secured without them and mainly derived from vehicle sales.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As per the company, the operating income increased thanks to volume growth and cost reduction, which counterbalanced higher supply chain costs, lower regulatory credit revenue, and the $23 million loss related to the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/76901\/tesla-bitcoin-q2-earnings\">Bitcoin investment<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Dont_expect_Tesla_trucks_any_time_soon\"><\/span>2.
