Acquired by Searchlight Pictures, the original release date was set for July 2021 before being pushed back. As the new release date draws near, we have a new trailer for the paranormal thriller. This time, a widowed Rebecca Hall is left all alone in a remote lake house. Naturally, things escalate from there.<\/p>\n<p>The neat wrinkle teased both in this trailer and in\u00a0previous ones\u00a0is that Hall\u2019s character Beth discovers a mirror image of her own house. This tends to be another horror trope that filmmakers return to every now and then (<strong>Edgar Wright\u2019s<\/strong> <em><strong>Last Night in Soho<\/strong><\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to explore similar thematic territory, though with individuals rather than locales), and it\u2019s certainly used to full effect here in <em>The Night House<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Having directed 2017\u2019s\u00a0<em>The Ritual<\/em>, Bruckner is well acquainted with the horror scene and the art of building tension, dread, and most importantly jump scares. As mentioned in our review of the film, \u201cThese are the ones designed to startle and shake you with genuinely scary moments, not faux distractions. David Bruckner\u2018s <em>The Night Hous<\/em>e is full of several of these genuine jump scares \u2013 and boy oh boy are they effective.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cast of The<em> Night House<\/em> includes\u00a0<strong>Sarah Goldberg<\/strong>\u00a0(<em>Barry<\/em>), <strong>Vondie Curtis Hall<\/strong> (<em>Eve\u2019s Bayou<\/em>), <strong>Evan Jonigkeit<\/strong> (<em>Togetherish<\/em>), and <strong>Stacy Martin<\/strong> (<em>Nymphomaniac<\/em>) in addition to Rebecca Hall.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Night House<\/em> is set for a theatrical release on <strong>August 20, 2021<\/strong>.
