\nBefore there was Bennifer, there was the bromance of Matt Damon<\/strong> and Ben Affleck<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Good Will Hunting<\/em> duo have been through a lot in their 40-year friendship. There have been highs and lows, tabloid fodder, Jimmy Kimmel<\/strong> bits, Oscars<\/strong>, and\u2026 lots of ladies between them. So it only makes sense that Matt would be asked about his BFF\u2019s rekindled relationship with Jennifer Lopez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Speaking with Extra<\/em> at the premiere of his new movie Stillwater<\/em>, the actor officially weighed in on the Bennifer reunion. He told the outlet:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just so happy for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The 50-year-old added:<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s the best. He deserves every happiness in the world. I\u2019m glad for both of them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time the Bourne Identity<\/em> star has commented on the once-and-future couple \u2014 but last time, he claimed ignorance of the relationship. Appearing on Today <\/em>in May, he told Savannah Guthrie<\/strong> and Hoda Kotb<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\u201cI just heard you guys. I was sitting here waiting to come on TV. It\u2019s the first time I heard about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

However, he did say:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a fascinating story. I hope it\u2019s true. I love them both. I hope it\u2019s true. That would be awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Well, it\u2019s true, Matt \u2014 and as of this past weekend, it\u2019s even Instagram<\/strong> official. After a few months of parading their rekindled romance around, it seems like the pair\u2019s pals have gotten the green light to open up about it. Shortly before the action star gave his blessing, J.Lo\u2019s bestie Leah Remini<\/strong> kicked off the Bennifer IG rollout on her own page.<\/p>\n

It sounds like most of the couple\u2019s inner circle have been supportive of the reunion. The Argo<\/em> director has been getting cozy with Jen\u2019s kids, and her mom has reportedly always been a big fan of his. On the other side of the equation, Ben\u2019s buddy Kevin Smith<\/strong> reminisced about the early days of the pairing from their film Jersey Girl<\/em>, and even claimed to have invented the nickname \u201cBennifer\u201d in the first place.<\/p>\n

No word yet on what Casey Affleck<\/strong> feels about the singer re-entering his brother\u2019s life. As you may recall, he was a MAJOR Ana de Armas<\/strong> fan, oddly telling Entertainment Tonight<\/em> after she and Ben broke it off:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that Ana is just the sweetest, funniest, smartest, most charming person. I think she won\u2019t have any problems meeting somebody else.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Umm\u2026 honestly, it sounds like Casey might have had a harder time dealing with that split than Ben did! We hope J.Lo was able to live up to his high expectations, LOLz.<\/p>\n

Seriously though, we can\u2019t imagine anyone is unhappy about Bennifer getting back together (besides Alex Rodriguez<\/strong>). And considering Matt and Ben will soon be promoting their new movie, The Last Duel<\/em>, together, we\u2019re crossing our fingers for more romance AND bromance content coming up!<\/p>\n
