His family shared the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> of his death via a statement, saying that he had passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26. \u201cJoey\u2019s death has left us with empty hearts and feelings of indescribable sorrow,\u201d the statement reads. He was 46 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Jordison played in Slipknot from their demo, 1996\u2019s <em>Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat<\/em>, through their fourth studio album <em>All Hope Is Gone<\/em> (2008). The Iowa metal band\u2019s primary percussionist was widely praised for his versatile and precise performance style. He was also a key part of the songwriting team in Slipknot, along with late bassist Paul Gray. (Shawn \u201cClown\u201d Crahan is now the last remaining original member of Slipknot.)<\/p>\n<p>In 2013, Jordison was dismissed from Slipknot. Some years later, he explained that he had been fighting a neurological disorder called transverse myelitis since 2010, and that his condition had worsened around the time he was fired. \u201cI couldn\u2019t play any more. It was a form of multiple sclerosis, which I wouldn\u2019t wish on my worst enemy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"Container-ineSfH kZHRTY\"><\/div>\n<p>As of 2018, Jordison had made a \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"external-link\" data-event-click='{\"element\":\"ExternalLink\",\"outgoingURL\":\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2018\/08\/ex-slipknot-drummer-joey-jordison-100-percent-back\/\"}' href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2018\/08\/ex-slipknot-drummer-joey-jordison-100-percent-back\/\">completely 100-percent<\/a>\u201d recovery from transverse myelitis, and was playing in the band Sinsaenum alongside Attila Csihar and keyboardist Sean Zitarsky.
