The Olympics is no joke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And at a press conference after her teammates\u2019 silver medal win Tuesday, Biles hinted at a more serious weight on her shoulders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhenever you get in a high-stress situation, you kind of freak out. The foursome went in and out of foster care, but Biles was adopted in 2003 by her loving maternal grandfather and his wife. The pair have long encouraged her passion for gymnastics. As a result, Biles was bullied at school. She consulted Houston-based sports psychologist Robert B. Andrews, who helped her manage her nerves and use her excitement to improve her skills.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter working with Robert, I was able to recover and get my confidence back,\u201d she said in a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20141228223634\/http:\/\/fulltwist.net\/interview-simon-biles-sports-psychologist-robert-b-andrews\/\">joint interview with Andrews<\/a> in 2014. They exposed her as having ADHD, a condition for which she was prescribed medication. <\/p>\n<p>Biles came out fighting, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Simone_Biles\/status\/775785767855611905?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E775785767855611905%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fnypost.com%2F2016%2F09%2F13%2Frussian-hackers-target-williams-sisters-in-olympic-drug-use-leak%2F\">taking to Twitter<\/a> to explain she was not cowed by the diagnosis. But it was a very good outing for me to get some energy out and then come home tired, do some homework and go to bed easier.\u201d She added that she never saw it as a disability: \u201cOther kids have it as well. And it\u2019s just we\u2019re more active and hyper than them, and I never think of that as a downfall.
