ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. \u2014 Aaron Judge returned to the Yankees\u2019 lineup Tuesday against the Rays after missing nine game<\/a>s while on the COVID-19 injured list.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s huge, obviously,\u2019\u2019 Aaron Boone said of getting Judge back before the Yankees opened their series<\/a> against the Rays at Tropicana Field.<\/p>\n

Judge, Kyle Higashioka and Luke Voit all took batting practice at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa on Monday.<\/p>\n

Judge and Higashioka were activated off the COVID IL Tuesday, and Boone said Voit, who has been on the IL with left knee inflammation, isn\u2019t far behind.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say very close,\u2019\u2019 Boone said when asked of Voit\u2019s status. \u201cWe\u2019ll have a decision in the next day or so if he\u2019s potentially back for this series [against Tampa Bay]. Miami, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

That would make the lineup pretty close to whole by Friday, as Voit ran the bases Tuesday. He may need to get some live at-bats, which he could get with the team\u2019s Florida Complex League team in Tampa on Thursday.<\/p>\n

For players like Voit and Gleyber Torres \u2014 and to a lesser extent Giancarlo Stanton and Gary Sanchez \u2014 who won\u2019t be able to get to their typical offensive numbers this season due to injuries, poor performance or both, Boone said he\u2019s not worried about them trying to do too much.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe really good thing about this group is \u2026 it\u2019s about winning,\u2019\u2019 Boone said. \u201cWe understand we\u2019re at the point of the season where we\u2019re a little behind the eight-ball. It\u2019s all about winning.\u201d<\/p>\n
