\nDua Lipa<\/strong> is levitating away from former collaborator DaBaby<\/strong> after the rapper got heat for a horrendously homophobic and sexist rant during his set at Rolling Loud<\/strong> music festival.<\/p>\n

The Grammy<\/strong> winner, who worked with the 29-year-old on her hit song Levitating<\/em> last year, said she was \u201csurprised and horrified\u201d by his gross comments on stage in Miami over the weekend, saying in a statement on Tuesday:<\/p>\n

\u201cI am surprised and horrified at DaBaby\u2019s comments. I really don\u2019t recognise this as the person I worked with. I know my fans know where my heart lies and that I stand 100% with the LGBTQ community. We need to come together to fight the stigma and ignorance around HIV\/AIDS.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

For those who don\u2019t know, DaBaby\u2019s comments came when he told folks in the Rolling Loud audience to put up their cell phone lights and proceeded to single out gay men and people with HIV\/AIDS. He said:<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you didn\u2019t show up today with HIV\/AIDS or other STDs that\u2019ll make you die in 2-3 weeks\u2026 Fellas, if you didn\u2019t suck a n**** d**k in the parking lot.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Um\u2026 WTF!?<\/p>\n

The star only made things worse when he addressed the remarks in a video, claiming the words weren\u2019t directed at his gay fans because his gay fans aren\u2019t \u201cnasty gay n****s\u201d or \u201cjunkies.\u201d (Again\u2026 WTF!?) According to TMZ<\/em>, he issued another apology of sorts to people affected by HIV and AIDS, calling his comments \u201cinsensitive\u201d and saying he didn\u2019t mean to offend anyone.<\/p>\n

Only time will tell if DaBaby suffers major fallout from this, but we\u2019re glad that Dua stepped up to shut this ignorant hatred down.<\/p>\n
