Gunn is particularly in demand right now, already splitting his time between two major studios, Marvel and Warner Bros. Could he continue splitting that time? according to the filmmaker, maybe.<\/p>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->After his brief split from Marvel Studios following <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> backlash, Gunn was immediately snatched up by the studio behind the DC Extended Universe to write and direct a film. His work on <em>The Suicide Squad<\/em> then spun off into a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> about one of his lead characters, Peacemaker (<strong>John Cena<\/strong>). And though the two projects capitalized on his schedule, he was rehired to work on the next few <em><strong>Guardians of the Galaxy<\/strong><\/em> projects and complete his trilogy with the team he brought to screen back in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>With the project pile slowly twiddling down, as production begins and their slated release dates get closer, fans can\u2019t help but wonder what Gunn will tackle next. Especially as he prepares to wrap up two DC projects and cross the aisle back over to Marvel, a question hangs in the air \u2014will Gunn continue working with either studio?<\/p>\n<p>Lucky for us, one brave soul dared to seek out answers (i.e. someone tweeted at him).<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\" xml:lang=\"en\">I have yes!<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 James Gunn (@JamesGunn) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JamesGunn\/status\/1420103084093575168?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 27, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_2 -->This is only half the answer we were looking for, but let\u2019s take what we can get.<\/p>\n<p>While it\u2019s not confirmation of any new titles, it\u2019s nice to know that discussions are being had. We at least know that Gunn is open to the possibility of future DC projects. Given the buzz around <em>The Suicide Squad<\/em> and the pure chaotic fun promised by the trailers, this sounds like great <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>And so we turn to speculation: what might Gunn\u2019s next DC project be?<\/p>\n<p>The obvious answer is another <em>Suicide Squad<\/em> follow-up film, or perhaps another spinoff series following one of its villains. Who wouldn\u2019t want eight more hours of Weasel, am I right? Gunn certainly has a thing for big team-up films, so maybe he\u2019ll dig back into the comic book depths and pull out another deep cut, like Gen13 or the Shadow Pact. He both wrote the first season and directed its first 5 episodes (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JamesGunn\/status\/1409249652453429255\">also confirmed via Twitter<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>On the Marvel end of things, Gunn is beginning production later this year on both <em><strong>Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3<\/strong><\/em> and <em><strong>The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special<\/strong><\/em>, which will shoot back to back. The special is expected in December of next year, while the film will hit theaters in the summer of 2023. Gunn also served as\u00a0executive producer on <em><strong>Thor: Love and Thunder<\/strong><\/em>, which features many members of the Guardians team and plenty of its own weirdness (<strong>Taika Waititi<\/strong> style). However, Gunn has hinted that\u00a0<em>Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3<\/em> might be his final Marvel project.<\/p>\n<p>So between the two comic universes, we could be seeing a lot more of Gunn.
