Welcome to\u00a0Shot by Shot, our ongoing series<\/a> of movie and TV trailer breakdowns. We\u2019re constantly scouring for perfect shots, and in this column, we share our favorites and discuss them. In this entry, we wander into the weird that is the Lamb trailer.<\/em><\/p>\n

No one wants to talk about what\u2019s going on in\u00a0Lamb<\/em><\/strong>. The film premiered at Cannes earlier this year, and critics were weary with the spoilers<\/a>. It\u2019s one of those films you just gotta see to believe. And, based on what we\u2019ve got here in this trailer, um, yeah, we can\u2019t argue with that. We\u2019re not sure what we got here, actually, but it\u2019s unnerving as hell, utterly gorgeous, and disturbingly inviting. Basically, it\u2019s an A24 movie! We gotta get it in our eyeballs.<\/p>\n

Noomi Rapace<\/strong> and Hilmir Sn\u00e6r Gu\u00f0nason<\/strong> are a childless couple who challenge nature in their unyielding desire to parent. And when you challenge nature, nature tends to challenge back. Director Valdimar J\u00f3hannsson<\/strong> makes his feature debut with Lamb<\/em>, but he\u2019s worked below the line as a special effects technician on such movies as Rogue One<\/em>: A Star Wars Story<\/em>, The Fate and the Furious<\/em>, and The Tomorrow War<\/em>. It\u2019s a good bet that his skills displayed on those flicks will come in handy with this bizarrely troubling Icelandic folk horror.<\/p>\n
