“#’My life got turned upside down’<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a family affair.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The hit reality series<\/a> \u201csMothered,\u201d which follows mothers and daughters with really c<\/em>lose bonds, winds up its third season Monday night at 9 on TLC.<\/p>\n

This season, among others, \u201csMothered,\u201d co-produced by The Post, tracked the mother\/daughter duos Cher and Dawn, who often dress alike; Hawaii pair\u00a0Amy and Carina, who sleep in the same bed and swap panties; and Chicago\u2019s Kathy, 60, and Cristina, 34, \u201csMothered\u201d veterans (all three seasons) who underwent big changes leading up to Monday\u2019s season finale.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy life kind of got flipped upside-down,\u201d Cristina told The Post. \u201cObviously I\u2019ve been a stay-at-home mom, and now getting this pizzeria that we own is a full-time job. I\u2019m working a ton of hours. It\u2019s time away from my kids, it\u2019s time away from my mom. And she\u2019s working at the pizza place as much as she can, to be with me. So definitely opening up our own restaurant has changed our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the first two seasons of the show, Cristina and Kathy \u2014 who live on the same street \u2014 had lots of leisure time to eat meals together, lounge by Kathy\u2019s pool, go on shopping trip<\/a>s, plan out home-improvement projects and meddle in Cristina\u2019s sister Carly\u2019s dating life.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, Cristina and her husband, Carlo, opened up Chicago\u2019s Pizzaboy Pizzeria<\/a> in February of this year, which impacted Cristina and Kathy\u2019s mother\/daughter time since then. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt used to be eight-to-10-hours a day that we were together,\u201d said Kathy. \u201cNow I\u2019m lucky if it\u2019s four [hours].\u201d<\/p>\n

But Cristina saidt they still make sure to plan a girls\u2019 nights together \u201conce a week to keep us sane.\u201d<\/p>\n

An unexpected side effect of their new restaurant is that many \u201csMothered\u201d fans have been coming in from places as far flung as Texas and Hawaii \u2014 and that\u2019s helped with the difficulty of opening a new restaurant during a pandemic, they said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause of the show, there\u2019s an influx of people that are coming here,\u201d said Kathy. \u201cEvery night there\u2019s people saying, \u2018Oh my God, we came here because of the TV show! Can we get a picture?\u2019 It\u2019s really been something else.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carlo\u2019s exasperation with his wife and mother-in-law\u2019s relationship has also been a throughline in every season \u2014 and their new business endeavor hasn\u2019t changed that.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe never really has had to work with me before,\u201d said Kathy, who helps out in the restaurant on Fridays and Saturdays. \u201cSo I walk in on Friday nights and he\u2019s like, \u2018Oh no, she\u2019s here!\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mom has a certain way of doing things,\u201d said Cristina. \u201cFor example, one day she walked in and got mad that we were serving a certain type of pizza slice on a certain type of plate. It was like a big uproar in the kitchen. Here we are arguing in front of all the employees over plates! She\u2019s never going to stop, and I don\u2019t care because I think she has the right idea. And [Carlo] gets aggravated. But he deals with it well, I have to say.\u201d<\/p>\n

And, Kathy said, she and Cristina are \u201cstill hounding [Carly] about her relationships \u201cWe\u2019re still trying to find a guy for her,\u201d she said. \u201cEvery day is a new adventure for us. There\u2019s never a dull moment. We love doing this show, we\u2019d do it again [if it gets a Season 4]. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll have to see what crazy thing is going to happ<\/a>en in our lives again.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
