In her own words:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->\u201c\u2026as actors, you know, things have not been going well for us.\u00a0I don\u2019t think you need me to tell you that. I mean, I lost my vested insurance after 43 years in the business because of Covid. I was $13 short and, you know, I don\u2019t really think that that is reasonable for any of us when we go through a global pandemic, to lose decades worth of our insurance or to lose all of the things that we need when we\u2019re trying to put food on the table, we\u2019re trying to keep our homes, and we\u2019re trying to feed our kids, families.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>For important context, the trustees in charge of the union\u2019s health plan made eligibility far more stringent as of January 1 2020, which resulted in a lawsuit alleging the board of illegal age discrimination. Stone, who is currently 63 years old, is right at the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/need-extra-precautions\/older-adults.html#:~:text=Increased%20Risk%20of%20Severe%20Illness%20from%20COVID%2D19,-Older%20adults%20are&amp;text=The%20risk%20increases%20for%20people,having%20certain%20underlying%20medical%20conditions.\">age range of those who are most at risk<\/a> of the virus and is currently campaigning for a seat on the board to enact some much-needed changes.<\/p>\n<p>Stone goes even further and mentions more disturbing details regarding current filming plans for various productions, adding that a role she was recently offered is now at risk if she continues to insist that no work commence unless everyone is vaccinated.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019ve been offered a job \u2014 a good job, a job I really want to do in Atlanta. That\u2019s why my hair is standing on end \u2026 because the Producers Guild of America will not guarantee that everyone on our show is vaccinated before I go to work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWill I go to work before everyone on my show is vaccinated? No. No, I won\u2019t,\u201d she added. \u201cAm I being threatened that I will lose my job? Yes. Yes I am. Will I lose my job if everyone is not vaccinated on my show? Yes. Yes I could. Will I stand up for all of us so that every set that we go on is vaccinated? Yes. Yes, I will. Why? Stone, for her part, alludes to her long history of charity work in <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amfar.org\/about-amfar\/trustee-biographies\/sharon-stone\/#:~:text=Stone%20has%20traveled%20widely%20on,need%20for%20continued%20AIDS%20research.\">raising funds for AIDS research<\/a>\u00a0as proof of her seriousness in dealing with the threat of Covid.<\/p>\n<p>In matters that aren\u2019t health-related, it\u2019s also worth mentioning that the actress wielded her significant influence in the past with the film <em>The Quick and the Dead<\/em>, fighting the studio to hire director Sam Raimi and even paying for a young Leonardo DiCaprio\u2019s salary <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.indiewire.com\/2021\/03\/sharon-stone-paid-leonardo-dicaprio-salary-studio-refused-1234626969\/\">out of her own pocket<\/a>.
