Sharon Stone said getting the COVID-19 vaccine shot should be a basic instinct for all who work on film sets.<\/p>\n

In a campaign video for the 63-year-old\u2019s bid run as a member of the\u00a0SAG-AFTRA<\/a> board of directors, the \u201cBasic Instinct\u201d actress alleged that she is \u201cbeing threatened\u201d with the loss of an acting job because she\u2019s demanding the crew working on the show be vaccinated. Stone\u2019s next project is a television series<\/a> being shot in Atlanta. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been offered a job \u2014 a good job, a job I really want to do in Atlanta,\u201d Stone said in the video with Deadline<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s why my hair is standing on end \u2026 because the Producers Guild of America will not guarantee that everyone on our show is vaccinated before I go to work.<\/p>\n

\u201cWill I go to work before everyone on my show is vaccinated? No. No, I won\u2019t,\u201d she continued. \u201cAm I being threatened that I will lose my job? Yes. Yes I am. Will I lose my job if everyone is not vaccinated on my show? Yes. Yes I could. Will I stand up for all of us so that every set that we go on is vaccinated? Yes. Yes, I will. Why? Because that\u2019s ridiculous \u2026 that we should have to go to work where we are not safe to work.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cCasino\u201d star added, \u201cI am standing up for all of us when I say that the Screen Actors Guild \u2014 that I will be working for with Membership First \u2014 will be safe for us to go to work.\u201d <\/p>\n

Stone also revealed she lost her health insurance \u201cafter 43 years in the [film] business because of COVID. I was $13 short \u2026 I don\u2019t really think that that is reasonable for any of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

On July 19, SAG-AFTRA stated in a press release that the option of\u00a0getting the COVID-19 vaccine<\/a> would be allowed\u00a0on film and television sets.<\/p>\n

\u201cProducers will also have the option to implement mandatory vaccination policies for casts and crew in Zone A on a production-by-production basis,\u201d the release said. \u201cAdditional changes, such as adjustments to testing frequency, are included for certain areas in the United States and Canada where COVID-19 incidence is, and remains, very low.\u201d<\/p>\n

The agreement will stay in effect through Sept. 30, 2021.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
