Prolific Native American actor Saginaw Grant of \u201cThe Lone Ranger\u201d fame died on Wednesday from natural causes. He was 85.<\/p>\n

His publicist Lani Carmichael told the Associated Press<\/a> that he passed away at a private care facility in Hollywood, California.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis motto in life was always respect one another and don\u2019t talk about one another in a negative way,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The news<\/a> of his death was also shared on his Facebook page<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s with heavy hearts we announce a warrior has been called home. Saginaw Morgan Grant, the hereditary chief and medicine man of the Sac & Fox tribe, travel<\/a>ed the world speaking of his traditions, his experiences, his sobriety and his faith as both a Native American and a Christian,\u201d the post read.<\/p>\n

Grant\u2019s other parts included a role in the Anthony Hopkins film, \u201cThe World\u2019s Fastest Indian,\u201d and a stint on the 1993 CBS series<\/a> \u201cHarts of the West,\u201d starring Beau Bridges and his dad, Lloyd Bridges.<\/p>\n

The Oklahoma native also had a guest-starring role in AMC\u2019s \u201cBreaking Bad\u201d where he played a truck driver in the 2013 episode, \u201cOzymandias.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grant also had parts in shows such as \u201cBaywatch,\u201d\u00a0\u201cMy Name Is Earl,\u201d\u00a0\u201cAmerican Horror Story,\u201d\u00a0\u201cShameless,\u201d\u00a0\u201cBaskets\u201d\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cVeep.\u201d<\/p>\n

He even participated in the National Gathering of American Indian Veterans.<\/a> The event is held annually in Wheaton, Illinois where participants honor veterans and military personnel of all cultures, eras and branches in a Native American style.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe thought it was important for Native people to get recognized as veterans,\u201d Joseph Podlasek, the event\u2019s organizer, told the AP. \u201cHe was kind and gentle and very humble.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grant is survived by his daughter Lisa; grandchildren Cassandra, Vanessa and Della as well as his great-grandchildren Joseph, Sherry Jo, Stephen and Micah Little Crow; and brothers Austin and Francis.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
