If you are displaying a range of values like sales totals, for example, you can use color scales in Google Sheets.<\/p>\n<p>With conditional formatting, you can apply a two- or three-color scale quite easily. Plus, you can take advantage of the preset color gradients or use your own custom colors. We\u2019ll show you how to do both.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Apply_a_Quick_Conditional_Formatting_Color_Scale\"><\/span>Apply a Quick Conditional Formatting Color Scale<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you want to quickly apply a color scale in Google Sheets, you can use one of the nine presets. Select the cells that you want to format by clicking the first cell and dragging through the rest. Then, head to Format in the menu and choose \u201cConditional Formatting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-737995\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/MenuFormatConditionalFormatting-GoogleSheets.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"Click Format, Conditional Formatting in the menu\" width=\"268\" height=\"500\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This opens the Conditional Format Rules sidebar, where you\u2019ll set up everything that you need. At the top of the sidebar, click the Color Scale tab. You\u2019ll im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely see your selected cells with the default color scale applied. Here, you\u2019ll see your nine gradient options. You can choose a number, percent, or percentile for each and include the midpoint if it applies. It could be your school colors or those in your company logo. Google Sheets lets you tailor the color scale exactly as you like.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll follow the same steps to set up your formatting rule. Select the cells, click Format &gt; Conditional Formatting from the menu, and confirm the cell range in the sidebar.<\/p>\n<p>Click the color scale below Preview and this time, choose \u201cCustom Color Scale\u201d at the bottom. You can select a color or click \u201cCustom\u201d at the bottom.
