Cheery Dr. Anthony Fauci was on television again Sunday warning us \u201cthings are going to get worse\u201d with COVID-19.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the Delta variant of the virus that is to blame for putting us back in masks, the nation\u2019s top infectious disease expert told ABC\u2019s Jonathan Karl<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fauci didn\u2019t mention all the other Greek letters of the alphabet lining up to do us harm. There\u2019s always something.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Like the Lambda variant which app<\/a>arently comes from, guess where? South America. This one is said to be worse than all the other letters.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So why the hell is the southern border wide open? In the middle of a pandemic?\u00a0<\/p>\n

On the one hand, the Biden administration is reimposing mask mandates and burdensome health restrictions we thought we had left behind. On the other hand, it is knowingly ushering in millions of illegal immigrants infected with COVID and not even testing them or keeping track of where they go. DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has testified to that fact.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They are put on buses and planes and covertly shipped around the country to unsuspecting communities, in a violation of CDC guidelines the rest of us have to follow.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If you are a law-abiding American citizen arriving at an American airport, even if you are fully vaccinated, you have to produce a negative COVID test result from the past one to three days or you won\u2019t be allowed in.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But at the southern border you can wander across, coughing and sneezing, and they\u2019ll give you a welcome pack and send you on your way to spread the disease.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The only reason we know that\u2019s been happening in La Joya, Texas, is because the local police department issued a public health warning on Facebook<\/a> last week about sick migrants wandering around without masks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A concerned citizen flagged down a police officer to complain about a family of migrants in the local Whataburger who were \u201ccoughing and sneezing without covering their mouths and not wearing face masks,\u201d the La Joya police department said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Whataburger family told the officer \u201cthey had been apprehended by Border Patrol days prior and were released because they were sick with COVID-19.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sorry, what?\u00a0<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not very compassionate \u2014 for the family, let alone for the rest of the community exposed to a wave of sneezing super spreaders surging over the border.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The COVID family was being housed at a hotel which had been booked out by Catholic Charities of The Rio Grande Valley to hold undocumented immigrants who had been offloaded onto them by Border Patrol.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But the charity did not inform local authorities, complained the La Joya police \u2014 who found that a group of 20 to 30 people staying at the hotel were wandering the streets, \u201cout and about, the majority without face masks.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Catholic Charities claimed the \u201cLa Joya incident is an isolated case [which] has caused a great deal of misinformation.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s not just La Joya. The mayor of Weslaco, Texas, issued a statement last week that the same thing had happened there and, again, nobody had warned city officials ahead of time of the influx of COVID carriers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It is a catastrophe at the border, not that you\u2019d know it from most of the media. Illegal crossings have soared since Biden took office. Border Patrol said last week they had exceeded a record 1 million apprehensions in the first six months of this year, and that doesn\u2019t count the \u201cgotaways.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The White House continues in \u201cAlice in Wonderland\u201d style to pretend the situation is perfectly normal.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will always be a nation of borders, and we will .\u2009.\u2009. continue to work to fortify an orderly immigration system,\u201d said a statement last week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Friday the administration declared that climate change is a \u201croot cause\u201d of migration and unveiled some bogus new strategy. Never let a crisis go to waste.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Democrats press ahead with legislation to open up citizenship paths for what they say are 11 million undocumented immigrants already living here, though other estimates say there are twice as many, because really how does anyone know?\u00a0<\/p>\n

Of course Democrats are facilitating the border disaster by design, on the assumption that illegals will vote for them and keep wages low for their big-business pals.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They are not even hiding what they\u2019re up to, as they labor to change election laws to weaken voter ID requirements or jettison them altogether, so that illegal migrants are entitled to vote.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s hard to ignore the massive spike in coronavirus cases in the border regions of Texas, which no doubt Joe Biden will blame on the \u201cNeanderthal\u201d thinking of Gov. Greg Abbott.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Worse than not lifting a finger to stop the mega-spreader event at the border, the administration is actively obstructing attempts by state and local authorities to protect their residents.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Abbott tried issuing an executive order so state troopers could stop vehicles carrying migrants who might be spreading COVID.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But what did Attorney General Merrick Garland do in response? He immediately filed a lawsuit against Texas to prevent the troopers doing what the governor asked.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Thousands of Americans have lost their businesses and jobs because of mandatory health regulations we were told were necessary to save lives, but now illegal migrants are being encouraged to flout every health measure that Fauci and pals have been shoving down our throats for over a year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s beyond a joke.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
