Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ening<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"articleList\">\n<li>\n      Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average<br \/>\n        YM00,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210407078\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+0.55%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       rose 180 points;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"articleList\">\n<li>\n      Futures on the S&amp;P 500<br \/>\n        ES00,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/209948968\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+0.64%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       rose 0.6%;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"articleList\">\n<li>\n      Futures on the Nasdaq 100<br \/>\n        NQ00,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210219788\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+0.57%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       also rose 0.6%.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Last week, the major stock market indexes dropped, with the S&amp;P 500<br \/>\n        SPX,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210599714\/realtime\" class=\"negative\">-0.54%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       losing 0.4% and Nasdaq Composite<br \/>\n        COMP,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210598365\/realtime\" class=\"negative\">-0.71%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       dropping 1.1%, after the megacap tech companies reported quarterly results.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<p><strong>What\u2019s driving markets<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe stars have aligned for stock markets, with a stellar earnings season being complemented by record-low real yields and hopes that Congress will deliver more fiscal juice soon,\u201d said Marios Hadjikyriacos, senior investment analyst at XM. U.S senators over the weekend concluded the text of a $1 trillion infrastructure bill.<\/p>\n<p>In a speech delivered Friday night, Fed Gov. Lael Brainard suggested that the central bank won\u2019t announce a tapering of its bond purchase program at the Jackson Hole gathering at the end of the month. \u201cI expect to be more confident in assessing the rate of progress once we have data in hand for September, when consumption, school, and work patterns should be settling into a post pandemic normal,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The September jobs data won\u2019t come until Oct. 8, according to the Labor Department\u2019s calendar of releases, and the next Federal Open Market Committee meeting after that will end Nov. 3.<\/p>\n<p>The next jobs report, covering July, is scheduled for release on Friday.
