In a featurette promoting his new comedy\u00a0<em><strong>Free Guy<\/strong><\/em><em>, <\/em>Reynolds gets his butt kicked by \u201cDude\u201d, a massively muscular version of himself.\u00a0<span id=\"more-690009\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Downing_Protein_Bombs_with_Dude\"><\/span>Downing Protein Bombs with Dude<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In <em>Free Guy<\/em>, Reynolds plays\u00a0a bank teller named Guy who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>. He decides to take matters into his own hands and rewrite his life. The problem is that the game\u2019s creator, Antwan (played by\u00a0<strong>Taika Waititi<\/strong>), doesn\u2019t want to give up control. The featurette shows Antwan\u2019s favorite creation, a character named Dude, whose catchphrase is \u201cCatchphrase!\u201d He sends Dude after Guy, which doesn\u2019t go great for Guy.<\/p>\n<p>The featurette pokes a good bit of fun at the lengths actors go to in order to maintain their superhero muscle definition. Reynolds cameos as himself as Dude, talking about drinking \u201cProtein Bombs\u201d made of \u201c100% human muscle\u201d and how he no longer fits into his\u00a0<strong><em>Deadpool<\/em><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>costume. It\u2019s trademark self-aware Reynolds humor. He even makes a joke about how the growth hormones he\u2019s taking made his wife Blake deliver a fully-grown human baby. Weird.<\/p>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post --><\/p>\n<p>The other thing that\u2019s a little weird is the way they\u2019ve pasted Reynold\u2019s face on an absolutely massive body double. There are moments where the Uncanny Valley is breached and you can see the digital seams. Oh, and what\u2019s with the blue button-down \u201ctattoo\u201d?<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Free Guy Featurette - Next Level Dude (2021) | Movieclips Trailers\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LBRfe5qhrb4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Wild_Cast_of_Characters\"><\/span>A Wild Cast of Characters<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This isn\u2019t the first featurette to drop before\u00a0<em>Fall Guy<\/em> hits theaters. We\u2019ve also gotten a better glimpse at Waititi\u2019s villainous Antwan in a previous featurette, and 20th Century Fox shared a short clip that introduced\u00a0<strong>Joe Keery\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong><b>Utkarsh Ambudkar<\/b><\/strong>\u2018s characters, Keys and Mouser. There\u2019s a surrealist tone to all of it, from the horrifyingly hulked-out Dude to Mouser and Keys asking Guy to remove his skin. They also call Guy by his full name, \u201cBlue Shirt Guy\u201d, which might explain Dude\u2019s choice of body art.<\/p>\n<p>All three short videos give audiences a taste of the humor in\u00a0<em>Free Guy<\/em>. In an interview with \/Film, Reynolds called the film \u201ca fastball of joy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Early buzz indicates that <em>Free Guy<\/em> is a satirical and heartfelt flick that will cheer up even the most skeptical movie-goer.\u00a0<em>Fall Guy\u00a0<\/em>was directed by\u00a0<strong>Shawn Levy<\/strong>\u00a0who helmed the\u00a0<em>Night at the Museum<\/em> franchise.
