“#Marvel’s ‘What If\u2026?’ EP Teases Chadwick Boseman’s Final Outing as T’Challa<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Disney+ continues its foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with its upcoming animated series<\/a> What If..?<\/em> as fan-favorite characters\u2019 stories are flipped on their heads.<\/p>\n

As the title suggests, the episodes as the question \u201cwhat if\u2026?\u201d such as what if Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) became Captain Carter instead of Steve Rogers becoming Captain America? Each episode takes well-known stories and tweaks one detail that ultimately changes everything, and one character who will heavily feature in the series is Black Panther<\/em>\u2018s T\u2019Challa (Chadwick Boseman).<\/p>\n

Boseman is one of the many MCU whose role is reprised through voice work, making What If\u2026?<\/em> the late actor\u2019s last Marvel project. The actor died in August of 2020 following a secret battle with colon cancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt really devastated all of us when we found out,\u201d What If\u2026? <\/em>executive producer Brad Winderbaum says. \u201cNone of us knew that he was sick when we were working with him. But even more humbling was the realization that he knew he was sick when he did the project.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joining Boseman, Atwell, and a bevy of other MCU favorites like WandaVision<\/em>\u2018s Paul Bettany, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier<\/em>\u2018s Sebastian Stan, and Loki<\/em>\u2018s Tom Hiddleston in the voice cast lineup is Westworld<\/em>\u2018s Jeffrey Wright. The actor serves as The Watcher, a being that narrates these tales which are inspired by the concept introduced in Marvel\u2019s What If..? <\/em>comics first published in the \u201970s.<\/p>\n

While some characters will app<\/a>ear in single episodes, Boseman is voicing \u201cdifferent versions of T\u2019Challa\u201d in \u201cfour episodes,\u201d according to Winderbaum who has executive produced MCU films like Black Widow<\/em> and Thor Ragnarok<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really emotional and I just hope that we\u2019re honoring him with these finished episodes,\u201d Winderbaum concludes. Fans can see T\u2019Challa onscreen as What If\u2026? <\/em>plays out on Disney+ Wednesdays beginning this August.<\/p>\n
