Amazon will only delete customers\u2019 \u201cpalm signatures\u201d if users explicitly close their accounts or do not use the feature for two years, according to the company.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour palm is a personal part of you and you alone decide when to hover it, and when to keep it private,\u201d reads the Amazon One website.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The company \u2014 which reported weaker-than-expected earnings in the second quarter \u2014 has previously caught flak from civil liberties activists for selling controversial facial recognition software to police.
