“#’Yellowstone’ Prequel ‘1883’ Casts Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill<\/strong>”

There\u2019s some star power coming to the Yellowstone<\/em> prequel 1883<\/em><\/a> at Paramount+.<\/p>\n

Sam Elliott<\/a>, Tim McGraw<\/a>, and Faith Hill<\/a> will star in the upcoming series<\/a> from Yellowstone<\/em> creator Taylor Sheridan. The prequel \u201cfollows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of untamed America,\u201d according to the logline. \u201cIt is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America\u2019s promised land \u2014 Montana.\u201d<\/p>\n

Academy Award<\/a> nominee Elliott will play Shea Brennan, described as a \u201ctough-as-nails, handsome cowboy with immense sadness in his past\u201d who \u201chas the herculean task of guiding a group from Texas to Montana, and he does not suffer fools.\u201d Husband and wife McGraw and Hill will star as the Dutton family patriarch and matriarch, James and Margaret.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt all starts with the writing, and Taylor Sheridan is a brilliant writer,\u201d Elliott said in a statement. \u201cI think the western genre speaks clearly to both of us. The classic struggles of man against man, man against nature and man against himself. It\u2019s all there, in 1883, and I\u2019m honored to be a part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is truly a dream job,\u201d McGraw added. \u201cTaylor has found a way of storytelling that brilliantly creates these epic dramas and family sagas with so much depth and creativity. The Duttons are tremendous characters and it\u2019s so thrilling to be able to bring them to life. As a kid growing up riding horses, you think about dream jobs like this and I am just so excited to work with this amazing cast and crew.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elliott\u2019s previous TV credits include Grace and Frankie<\/em><\/a>, Justified<\/em><\/a>, and Parks and Recreation<\/em><\/a>. McGraw\u2019s acting credits include the films Friday Night Lights<\/em> and The Blind Side<\/em>, while Hill\u2019s include The Stepford Wives<\/em> and Touched by an Angel<\/em>.<\/p>\n
