If you must know, it\u2019s so I can help crowdfund an independent film that some scr<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>y practical effects wizard, perhaps a repentant George Lucas himself, is making in some garage somewhere.<\/p>\n<p>What, you thought I wanted to blow all that money on a mandatory two-night stay in\u00a0<strong><em>Star Wars<\/em> Galactic Starcruiser<\/strong>? Dream on. Oh, I\u2019ll still be watching this trailer for the new <em>Star Wars<\/em>-themed hotel at Florida\u2019s <strong>Walt Disney World\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014 as will you, my young padawans, thanks to the power of suggestion. \u201cAn old Jedi mind trick,\u201d let\u2019s call it.<\/p>\n<p>No, seriously: check out the trailer for the immersive, outrageously priced hotel, which does appear to have a two-night requirement and which\u00a0is scheduled for liftoff in 2022.<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post --><br \/>\nWhat\u2019s so funny about this hotel trailer is not just that teaser trailers for hotels are now a thing in the galaxy very, very near to us. It\u2019s that the first alien they show is making a toast with a blue exotic drink and he\u2019s wearing a white space tuxedo or some such getup. Frankly, it\u00a0makes him look like he stepped right off the rich and swanky casino planet of Canto Bight. You know, the place that made Rose Tico say,\u00a0\u201cI wish I could put my fist through this whole lousy beautiful town.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/general-news\/disney-galactic-starcruiser-hotel-cost-1234992825\/\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>\u00a0notes:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>There are no prices yet listed for the hotel\u2019s upgraded rooms, dubbed the Galaxy Chess Suite \u2014 which includes two windows, instead of one, looking out into \u201cspace\u201d \u2014 and the Grand Captain Suite (three space windows!), but one assumes those prices are most impressive. There are other add-ons too such as Captain\u2019s Table seating rather than eating at communal tables in the \u201cCrown of Corellia Dining Room.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Can you say exclusive? Can you say exorbitant?<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_2 -->Armed with the knowledge that the cheapest stay at <em>Star Wars<\/em> Galactic Starcruiser will run\u00a0$4,809 for two guests (for two nights), some <em>Star Wars<\/em> fans (the ones who don\u2019t have mythical money trees growing in their backyards) may rightly confuse Disney World with Canto Bight after seeing this trailer.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Star_Wars_Galactic_Starcruiser_Trailer\"><\/span><em>Star Wars<\/em> Galactic Starcruiser Trailer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=D0e8v2G6Lzo\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=D0e8v2G6Lzo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>My family lives in Central Florida and, once we\u2019re on the other side of this pandemic,\u00a0I would very much like to fly there\u00a0and visit\u00a0Disney World with them again. They\u2019re Annual Passholders, but I have to wonder what they and Passholders like them must think of this <em>Star Wars<\/em> hotel and its somewhat cost-prohibitive M.O.<\/p>\n<p>In a post exploring the hotel\u2019s price scheme\u00a0($5,999 minimum for a family of four),\u00a0our own Josh Spiegel, who runs the theme park desk here at \/Film, likened it to the scene in <em>Jurassic Park<\/em> where \u201ca group of adults first debate the ethical ramifications of cloning dinosaurs in the modern age, until one of them \u2013 \u2018a blood-sucking lawyer\u2019 \u2013 salivates at the thought of charging people thousands of dollars.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It reminds me of that scene in Kevin Smith\u2019s <em>Dogma\u00a0<\/em>where the two rogue angels,\u00a0Bartleby and Loki (not that Loki, the one played by Matt Damon who spends the scene carving an onion),\u00a0sit in the boardroom of greedy executives rejoicing over the profits they\u2019ve made with their company mascot,\u00a0Mooby the Golden Calf. I can see one of those executives tenting his fingers like Mr. Burns on <em>The Simpsons<\/em>\u00a0(stream it on Disney+!). In my mind\u2019s-eye, he\u2019s saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_3 -->\u201cWe\u2019ll start this hotel trailer out with \u2018Binary Sunset,\u2019 naturally. That will give them the feels. A little of the old John Williams goes a long way.\u00a0Then, their souls and, most importantly, their greenbacks, will belong to us.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-691084 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/Star-Wars-Hotel-Alien-700x392.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"392\" srcset=\"https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/Star-Wars-Hotel-Alien.jpg 700w, https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/Star-Wars-Hotel-Alien-360x202.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Will_It_Be_Worth_It\"><\/span>Will It Be Worth It?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><em>Star Wars<\/em> Galactic Starcruiser looks to offer a resort-within-a-resort experience, like a cruise on land. Personally, I think I\u2019d be more likely to stay at an existing Disney hotel like the\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/disneyworld.disney.go.com\/resorts\/wilderness-lodge-resort\/\">Wilderness Lodge<\/a> the next time we come to Florida.\u00a0There are, however, undoubtedly some fans for whom <em>Star Wars<\/em> Galactic Starcruiser would be the greatest hotel experience of their lives. The appeal of this place, per The Hollywood Reporter, is that it offers an experience designed to be \u201cpart live immersive theater, part themed environment, part culinary extravaganza, part real-life role-playing <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDad, we gotta go see the ship!\u201d enthuses the young daughter in the trailer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo,\u201d the bearded father retorts. \u201cWe\u2019re gonna go save the galaxy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Substitute \u201cship\u201d for \u201cresort\u201d (as in, the rest of the Disney World resort) and substitute \u201csave the galaxy\u201d for \u201cremain in-hotel,\u201d and\u00a0it\u2019s easy to imagine\u00a0<em>Star Wars<\/em> Galactic Starcruiser becoming a pressure-cooker for fistfights between fans who still want to debate <em>The Last Jedi<\/em> while wearing Jedi robes at Disney.<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_4 -->If you think that sounds like an unfair exaggeration, just know that I did <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheGaijinGhost\/status\/902133676523241473\">witness a fistfight<\/a> break out in front of the Festival of Fantasy parade at the Magic Kingdom in the summer of 2017. It happened right in front of the Hall of Presidents, go figure.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow <em>Star Wars<\/em> fans, if you can afford it, then more power to you!
