Gov. Andrew Cuomo didn\u2019t show up at work on Wednesday but instead remained holed up in the Governor\u2019s Mansion developing a strategy to salvage his political career, sources told The Post.<\/p>\n

The embattled Democrat met with close allies in Albany\u2019s Executive Mansion and remained tight-lipped on findings by independent investigators that he sexually harassed 11 women in the workplace, according to the sources.<\/p>\n

State Democratic Party Chairman Jay Jacobs \u2014 a longtime Cuomo ally \u2014 told The Post that for several hours he begged the governor to resign following the release of State Attorney General<\/a> Letitia James\u2019s bombshell report Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was trying to encourage him to step down. That\u2019s not his mindset at the moment,\u201d he said, describing it as a \u201csad conversation\u201d between the two men.<\/p>\n

The Wall Street Journal also reported<\/a> that Cuomo was\u00a0prepping with his close advisors for a second press conference,\u00a0 where he planned to further address the\u00a0allegations lodged against him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe event never happ<\/a>ened because the governor\u2019s team couldn\u2019t settle on an exact message or format,\u201d the sources told the paper.<\/p>\n

Cuomo has not been seen in public or made a statement since Attorney General Letitia James released the 165-page bombshell report Tuesday morning, instead opting to release a pre-recorded video denying the accusations, as a bipartisan chorus of calls for his resignation grew deafening.<\/p>\n

The governor\u2019s silence comes as separate criminal investigations into the report\u2019s allegations of forcible touching were launched in Nassau County, Manhattan, Westchester County and Albany.<\/p>\n

A wide-ranging impeachment inquiry in the Democratic-led state Assembly is said to have broad support among state legislators, the majority of whom have called for Cuomo to read the writing on the wall.<\/p>\n

The local calls for Cuomo\u2019s resignation have also been echoed by former allies President Biden, House Speaker Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Schumer in Washington.<\/p>\n

The AG\u2019s report detailed allegations of sexual harassment, intimidation and unwanted touching by 11 accusers that investigators found credible.<\/p>\n

Cuomo\u2019s Wednesday hideout \u2014 the mansion where he once lived with his father Gov. Mario Cuomo \u2014 was the site of the report\u2019s most serious accusation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean it was \u2014 he was like cupping my breast. He cupped my breast,\u201d an unidentified female aide said in sworn testimony to investigators.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
