Anime, manga and visual kei are also lived and loved in western countries.  But how did this development take place?  From robotized monsters to magical moon girls.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_first_anime\"><\/span><strong>The first anime<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>While there is some discussion and controversy on this topic, as several competing studios claim they released the first anime.  The birth of the anime is dated to the year 1917. At that time, both the 5-minute silent film called &#8220;Mukuz\u014d Imokawa&#8221; &#8211; the porter of \u014cten Shimokawa, and Dekob\u014d shingach\u014d &#8211; Meian no shippai.  They are among the first Japanese animated films and are therefore the forerunners of today&#8217;s popular animes.  The first anime that was shown outside of Japan is the &#8220;Momotar\u014d&#8221; by Seitar\u014d Kitayama.  He also founded the first Japanese animation studio in 1921.<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hard_times_for_the_Japanese_film_industry\"><\/span><strong>Hard times for the Japanese film industry<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>In 1923 Japan experienced the famous <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.japan-guide.com\/a\/earthquake2\/image_d.html?26\">Kant\u014d earthquake<\/a>, which recorded thousands of deaths and wreaked havoc in Japanese film history.  The following World War II also caused massive damage, and the film industry was hit again.  It is estimated that so much of Japanese film history was destroyed by these two tragic events that today only 4% of pre-1945 film productions are from Japan.  Despite the hard blows, the Japanese animation culture managed to develop continuously.  Today anime production is gaining in importance worldwide and produces several animes annually.  The basis for the success is the worldwide interest in this special Japanese film art, which is currently also competing with the western comic culture.  How strong the interest in Japanese pop culture is in this country is not only shown by the production figures, but also <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.messen.de\/de\/1563\/branche\/anime-und-manga\">the trade fair events<\/a> in the field of anime and manga.<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Anime_development_in_the_field_of_games\"><\/span><strong>Anime development in the field of games<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Anime is no longer only to be found in TV, comics or the music scene.  Many see anime and manga as a kind of lifestyle.
