Source: TradingView<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/ETHUSD\/\">TradingView<\/a>\u00a0showed ETH\/USD climbing swiftly to local highs of $2,820 on Bitstamp Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The sudden burst of enthusiasm countered a downtrend which had set in after the initial uptick following London&#8217;s successful deployment the day before.<\/p>\n<p>After a wick down to as low as $2,530, Ethereum outperformed many altcoins on hourly timeframes, setting its sights on resistance nearer to the $3,000 mark.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Out of the past 16 Daily candles for <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$ETH<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>15 of them were green<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Crypto?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Crypto<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Ethereum?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Ethereum<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rekt Capital (@rektcapital) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rektcapital\/status\/1423296192109191171?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 5, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>For Cointelegraph contributor Michael van de Poppe, the incoming resistance was nonetheless essential to break in order to secure bullish continuation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ethereum makes a massive bounce upwards here from the critical level at $2,535,&#8221; he <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CryptoMichNL\/status\/1423291452071682049\">summarized<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> followers. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;However, didn&#8217;t crack and flip the resistance at $2,850-2,925 yet. That&#8217;s required to flip in order to continue toward ATH&#8217;s.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The move came as trader and analyst Rekt Capital noted that investors were reawakening their interest in altcoin markets more broadly following last week&#8217;s significant Bitcoin (BTC) price pump.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;BTC is consolidating at highs, trying to perform an all-important retest of the top of the Weekly range it broke out from last week,&#8221; he <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rektcapital\/status\/1423251913932410881\">tweeted<\/a> on the day. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Meanwhile, some of the capital that drove the $BTC move to ~$42000 last week is now flowing into some Altcoins.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In a further triumph, ETH\/BTC also looked set to reclaim important resistance at 0.07, a level in place for several weeks.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-08\/93eac4b4-5ff0-4349-8c93-72d8db9d6ace.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>ETH\/BTC 1-day candle chart (Bitstamp).
