\nAccomplished professional wrestler \u201cBeautiful\u201d Bobby Eaton<\/strong> has passed away, according to multiple reports.<\/p>\n

Eaton, who wrestled with both the National Wrestling Alliance<\/strong>\u00a0(NWA) and World Championship Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>(WCW) during his long career, died on Wednesday night of unknown causes. This is all according to his sister, who revealed the news<\/a> first on social media<\/a> on Thursday morning. He was 62 years old; his 63rd birthday was coming up in 10 days.<\/p>\n

Debbie Eaton Lewis<\/strong>, Bobby\u2019s older sister, announced his death on Facebook<\/strong>, writing (below):<\/p>\n

\u201cI never wanted to have to post this, but my little brother Beautiful Bobby Eaton passed away last night. When I find out all the details, I will post them. Bobby was the kindest, loving person you would ever meet. I loved him so much and going to miss him.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Wow.<\/p>\n

Eaton was a former multi-time NWA United States Tag Team Champion as part of the\u00a0Midnight Express<\/strong> with \u201cSweet\u201d Stan Lane<\/strong> and\u00a0Dennis Condrey<\/strong>. He also experienced tag team success in the WCW with\u00a0Arn Anderson<\/strong>, and held individual belts with the\u00a0Mid-Atlantic Championship<\/strong> and\u00a0Smokey Mountain Wrestling<\/strong>, among others, in a career than started in 1976 and lasted until his retirement in 2015.<\/p>\n

While the cause of his death is at this point unclear, according to\u00a0eWrestlingNews.com<\/em>, Eaton was hospitalized last month after a bad fall. In the incident, he suffered multiple broken fingers and \u201ca banged-up hip\u201d for which he was reportedly receiving physical therapy. It is not known whether that fall, or the subsequent hospitalization, contributed to his death.<\/p>\n

According to another report from\u00a0PWInsider<\/em>, Eaton\u2019s wife\u00a0Donna Eaton<\/strong> \u2014 the daughter of famous Scottish-American wrestler\u00a0Bill Dundee<\/strong> \u2014 passed away in late June, just a month before Bobby\u2019s hospitalization and about six weeks prior to his death. The couple had been married for more than 30 years at the time of her death. With Bobby gone now, too, they leave behind three children:\u00a0Dustin<\/strong>,\u00a0Taryn<\/strong>, and\u00a0Dylan<\/strong> \u2014 the latter of whom followed in his father\u2019s footsteps and wrestled on the southern independent circuit for several years in the past.<\/p>\n

In a statement released to the press and on social media, the NWA mourned his passing:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe National Wrestling Alliance is Saddened to hear about the passing of the legendary \u2018Beautiful\u2019 Bobby Eaton. We send our love to his friends and family. His impact & legacy will always be remembered.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Wrestling writer\u00a0Sean Ross Sapp<\/a><\/strong> pointed his fans to old videos of some of Eaton\u2019s fights, adding his own remembrance to the bunch:<\/p>\n

\u201cYounger wrestlers and wrestling fans, seek these out. Bobby Eaton was the man. May he rest in peace.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And fellow pro wrestler\u00a0Frankie Kazarian<\/strong> publicly shared his respects, too:<\/p>\n

\u201cA friend, and an absolute master of the craft of professional wrestling. A man whom I hope will get the recognition that he undeniably deserves. It was my pleasure to know, watch and learn from you. Our industry is a better place because of you. Godspeed sir.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So sad.<\/p>\n
