Cecily Strong \u2014 a \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d staple who\u2019s played the likes of Sofia Vergara<\/a>, Ivana Trump<\/a> and Jeanine Pirro<\/a> \u2014 is still weighing her options about returning to the late-night comedy show for Season 47 this fall.<\/p>\n

Strong, 37, told the New York Times<\/a> she was \u201cstill thinking\u201d about her decision to come back for a 10th year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThroughout the year, there were times where I felt like a fifth-year senior and I\u2019m just hanging around, dead weight,\u201d she said. \u201cThen there would be moments that felt so good.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSNL\u201d casting negotiations occur in the summer, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, and longtime producer Lorne Michaels confirmed he and Strong were talking about her re-casting \u2014 and he\u2019s hopeful for her return.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy hope is she\u2019ll come back,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat I said to her, and what I believe, is that I don\u2019t think she\u2019s done yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

While seven seasons is the average length of a contract with the comedy skit show, some cast members have exceeded that timeline \u2014 like Kenan Thompson, who is reportedly returning<\/a> for his 19th season \u2014 so it is unclear whether Strong will, too.<\/p>\n

But she isn\u2019t the only one alluding to potentially leaving.<\/p>\n

Michael Che, who faced controversy over recent comments about struggling 2021 Olympics medalist Simone Biles, said on \u201cThe Ellen Show<\/a>\u201d last year that he started to \u201cpsychologically brace\u201d to leave in the future. Meanwhile, Pete Davidson recently alluded to \u201changing up the jersey\u201d on THR\u2019s Comedy Actor Roundtable<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Strong\u2019s tearing up during the season finale\u2019s cold open<\/a>, where actors talked about the difficulties of filming in 2020, created speculation<\/a> that she was potentially saying goodbye.<\/p>\n

In one of her final skits last season, Strong performed a sketch titled \u201cMy Way,\u201d which \u201cSNL\u201d writer Bryan Tucker told the Times he wrote as a \u201cvictory lap\u201d for her, as she was a vital part of the show.<\/p>\n
