His newest film <em><strong>Pig<\/strong><\/em> arrived last month and subsequently became his best reviewed live-action film on Rotten Tomatoes. His performance is hauntingly subdued, and garnered plenty of critical acclaim. And maybe subdued isn\u2019t your first thought when it comes to the performances of Nic Cage, but isn\u2019t that just further proof of his talent?<\/p>\n<p>But I digress. If you loved <em>Pig<\/em> but need some of that classic Nicolas Cage weirdness, have no fear, director <strong>Sion Sono<\/strong>\u2018s\u00a0<strong><em>Prisoners of the Ghostland<\/em><\/strong> just received an official release date. Cage\u2019s film premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival and given its <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> wildness, we\u2019ve opted to dub it the craziest movie of 2021. Based on the film\u2019s neon-drenched, <em>Mad Max<\/em>-esque intensity and its wild synopsis, it\u2019s going to earn that title anyway.<\/p>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->Lucky for us, the wait won\u2019t be very long. <em>Prisoners of the Ghostland<\/em> will premiere in theaters and on VOD on\u00a0<strong>September 17, 2021\u00a0<\/strong>(via <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bloody-disgusting.com\/movie\/3676854\/prisoners-ghostland-nicolas-cage-takes-ghosts-samurais-ninjas-september-17th-rlje-films\/\">Bloody Disgusting<\/a>). Here\u2019s a hint at what to expect, from Cage himself:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt\u2019s out there. I wear a skintight black leather jumpsuit with grenades attached to different body parts, and if I don\u2019t rescue the governor\u2019s daughter from this state line where they\u2019re all ghosts and bring her back, they\u2019re gonna blow me up.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So there it is in a nutshell. When he\u2019s finally released, it\u2019s with the condition that he\u00a0perform a sort of heist-like kidn<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ing job. The ruler of Samurai Town, known as The Governor, straps Hero into a suit lined with bombs and sends him into\u00a0a nightmarish realm to rescue his daughter, Bernice.<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_2 -->It\u2019s very <em>Mad Max<\/em>, throwing the audience into a post-apocalyptic world that\u2019s saturated with neon. But in addition to the seemingly out-of-place cars are ninjas, samurai and, of course, ghosts. Cage stars alongside <strong>Sofia Boutella<\/strong>, who shows off her action chops in the film\u2019s biggest, most explosive moments.<\/p>\n<p>And if the plot of this movie is <em>starting<\/em> to make sense, I promise it gets even weirder from there. The movie pays homage to more genres than should be allowed to co-exist, and comes together like a whirlwind.
