The US Navy Leap Frogs wowed New Yorkers in a skydiving demonstration over Central Park on Thursday, as parachuters dove from 7,500 feet above the Big App<\/a>le into the park.<\/p>\n

The skydivers\u00a0jumped from a C-130 military plane, some unfurling the American flag with smoke streams behind them as they plunged toward the ground with the Manhattan skyline and blue skies as a backdrop.<\/p>\n

Leap Frogs opened their \u201cNavy\u201d chutes and linked in formation as they floated into the park while dozens of spectators watched in awe.<\/p>\n

The US Navy Parachute Team began in 1974 with volunteers agreeing to perform at weekend air shows, the Leap Frogs\u2019 bio states<\/a>. They were branded \u201cLeap Frogs\u201d in 1974.<\/p>\n

Demonstrators are scheduled Friday and Saturday at Liberty Park and at Lido Beach on Monday, according to the Leap Frogs schedule.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
