Lucy isn\u2019t begging Ricky\u2019s permission to be in his show anymore \u2014 she\u00a0is<\/em>\u00a0the show, honey!<\/p>\n

Lucille Ball, the dearly departed doyenne of American sitcom television, who died in 1989 at age 77, is bouncing onto the audio streaming scene this week with a revealing new SiriusXM comedy show, \u201cLet\u2019s Talk to Lucy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAncient tapes\u201d from the \u201cI Love Lucy\u201d icon\u2019s short-lived 1960s CBS Radio show feature newly resurrected rare \u2014 and raw \u2014 interviews between the revered redhead and old Hollywood legends like Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Carol Burnett and Bob Hope, to name just a few.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a treasure trove of personal information from some of the greatest talents of American entertainment,\u201d said Lucie Arnaz<\/a>, 70, Ball\u2019s daughter with her late television and real-life husband, Desi Arnaz \u2014 who died in 1986 of lung cancer at 69.<\/p>\n

The recordings \u2014 unheard for more than 50 years \u2014 originally aired on the CBS radio network between 1964 and 1965. They have remained archived in the family\u2019s private collection for decades.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family and I can\u2019t wait to share them with the rest of the planet,\u201d Arnaz added.<\/p>\n

The limited three-week series<\/a> is set to debut Thursday and will air on SXM Channel 104, as well as on Pandora and Stitcher.<\/p>\n

Using her own portable recording device, Ball would chronicle meaningful conversations with the legends during the cracks in her own full schedule \u2014 which included starring in a multitude of TV shows and movies, raising her two children (Lucie and her brother, Desi Arnaz Jr., 68) and serving as the chief executive of independent television company Desilu Productions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough I have been care-taking these ancient tapes for over 30 years, I had never really listened to them all,\u201d the five-time Emmy winner<\/a>\u2019s daughter explained. \u201cI had no idea how many remarkable people Mom had talked to on these radio shows.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ball\u2019s SiriusXM series will also feature special tributes to the celebrated comedia<\/a>n from famous fans, such as Ron Howard, 67, Amy Poehler, 49, and Tiffany Haddish, 41.<\/p>\n

The laudable A-listers will even answer some of the original questions asked by Ball during her radio hostess run.<\/p>\n

\u201cFew stars reach a level of worldwide fame that they need only be known by one name. Lucy is one such star,\u201d said\u00a0Jack Vaughn, SiriusXM\u2019s senior VP of Comedy Programming. \u201cAlways a trailblazer, Lucy can arguably add \u2018one of America\u2019s first podcasters to her vast repertoire. Hearing her conversations with some of the world\u2019s biggest names, full of her signature wit, charm, and intelligence, is truly a surreal experience, and I can\u2019t wait for listeners to tune in.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, \u201cLet\u2019s Talk to Lucy\u201d is the latest modern nod to the Vitameatavegamin-guzzling jokester of the 1950s.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Poehler is directing a documentary<\/a> centered around Ball and Arnaz\u2019s \u201ccomplicated and loving\u201d relationship for Howard\u2019s Imagine Entertainment production company. <\/p>\n

And a forthcoming biographical film, \u201cBeing the Ricardos\u201d\u2014 starring Nicole Kidman, 54, and Javier Bardem, 52 \u2014 is also poised to give \u201cI Love Lucy\u201d fans a behind-the-scenes look into the soured love of TV\u2019s favorite sweethearts.<\/p>\n

Both films are being made with the cooperation of Ball\u2019s estate.<\/p>\n
