Chris Cuomo\u2019s CNN colleagues are confused at him being allowed to stay on air without mentioning his brother\u2019s sex-harassment scandal \u2014 with some \u201cdismayed\u201d that he was not disciplined for his involvement in trying to cover it up, according to a report.<\/p>\n

The 50-year-old anchor has remained hosting his hour-long \u201cCuomo Prime Time\u201d show without any mention of the mushrooming scandal facing him and his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.<\/p>\n

The prime-time news<\/a> silence on the biggest story of the day is jarring for viewers \u2014 and even more confusing for Chris Cuomo\u2019s colleagues at the left-leaning network, sources admitted to The New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So far none of CNN\u2019s sizable pool of female anchors or on-air contributors have discussed their colleague\u2019s role in advising his brother, even though many have been vocal supporters of the #MeToo movement, analysis by Fox News showed.<\/p>\n

However, many staffers have privately expressed dismay that Cuomo has been allowed to stay on air without addressing the scandal \u2014 with some insisting that he should have been disciplined, sources told the Times.<\/p>\n

While many were too scared to go on the record with their complaints, Jake Tapp<\/a>er has been a lone voice at the network willing to speak out against his fellow anchor, the Times noted.<\/p>\n

After it first emerged that his colleague had been moonlighting to advise his brother, Tapper told the Times in May that it \u201cput us in a bad spot.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI cannot imagine a world in which anybody in journalism thinks that that was appropriate,\u201d he said at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI certainly understand the love that Chris has for his brother, and I have a brother and I get it, but that was not a fun day,\u201d said Tapper.<\/p>\n

CNN had offered Cuomo a leave of absence to help his brother, but he seemingly rejected it, later admitting that it was a \u201cmistake\u201d to put his company in such a bad position.<\/p>\n

The fact that he remained on-air this week is a clear signal that he still has the full support of CNN\u2019s worldwide president, Jeff Zucker, the Times noted.<\/p>\n

One of the network\u2019s top execs, Allison Gollust, used to be the governor\u2019s PR chief \u2014 which former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer suggested this week is why CNN has let off the TV-host sibling.<\/p>\n

Zucker had previously reveled in his anchor\u2019s interviews with his powerful politician brother during the early days of the COVID-19 crisis, spots that dramatically raised the TV journalist\u2019s profile, the outlet noted.<\/p>\n

The anchor, however, has been direct about where his loyalty lies.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m family first, job second,\u201d he told viewers in May while admitting to his moonlighting \u201cmistake.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cuomo will be off-air next week, but for a break that was planned long before the scandal, the Times said. His 63-year-old brother, meanwhile, remains holed up in the Executive Mansion, where The Post spotted him lounging around his pool.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
