The Issue: Calls for Gov. Cuomo to resign after a report that he sexually harassed multiple women.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As an Italian-American, I also grew up with the outward affection, hugging and kissing that the governor referenced in his \u201cthis-is-who-I-am\u201d video response (\u201cCreep on the ropes,\u201d Aug. 5).<\/p>\n

However, it doesn\u2019t take much to differentiate when that behavior is app<\/a>ropriate and when it\u2019s not.<\/p>\n

Gov. Cuomo signed the sexual-harassment law that led to the mandated training that most of us are required to take at our workplace.<\/p>\n

Ironically, based on his actions as outlined in the attorney general<\/a>\u2019s report, he could easily double as the insensitive oaf who appears in these same training videos displaying how not to behave.<\/p>\n

If he comes to his senses and resigns, the governor could take two positive actions before he leaves: repeal bail reform, which is a horrendous policy, and clean house at the parole board.<\/p>\n

The Cuomo sexual-abuse scandal is not shocking to me. When you have power, fame and money, these type of scandals become almost commonplace.<\/p>\n

Tiger Woods, President Bill Clinton, Gov. Eliot Spitzer \u2014 the list goes on and on. Power corrupts.<\/p>\n

The odds are decidedly against Cuomo surviving his sexual-harassment scandal. Local, state and national Democrats are deserting him en masse \u2014 including President Biden.<\/p>\n

No will ever mistake the governor for St. Francis of Assisi. However, as Andrea Peyser notes (\u201cHere\u2019s why Andrew Cuomo could still survive his sordid sexual harassment scandal,\u201d Aug. 4), Cuomo\u2019s pragmatic approach to governance elided the differences between liberal orthodoxies and conservative principles.<\/p>\n

But the governor\u2019s alleged behavior toward 11 women \u2014 if true \u2014 constitutes a serious breach of ethics. Offensive sexual advances and comments directed at women must be vociferously rebuked.<\/p>\n

However, Peyser also underscores the blatant hypocrisy of some of Cuomo\u2019s erstwhile allies \u2014 specifically POTUS 46.<\/p>\n

People who want Cuomo to resign should be careful what they wish for. Cuomo needs to be impeached immedia<\/a>tely and legally removed from office.<\/p>\n

With a resignation, he can always later say he was forced to resign and he did nothing wrong. He might even write a book about how it was all political and he is innocent.<\/p>\n

New Yorkers need him to be brought before his peers on the Senate floor and found guilty and removed from office so there is no doubt for future generations.<\/p>\n

He cannot be allowed to slip through the cracks like he has done so many times. History and all the women he wronged deserve nothing less than an impeachment.<\/p>\n

All this talk about Cuomo resigning is nonsense. Not only will he never resign, but the new powers in Albany won\u2019t push him out.<\/p>\n

Cuomo has more arrogance than anyone on Earth and, at this point, wants to have a victory lap type of retirement.<\/p>\n

He is counting on the liberal press to forget all these allegations. State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie\u2019s impeachment \u201cinvestigation\u201d will move at a snail\u2019s pace, and Cuomo will, with his usual arrogance, announce a job well done and say he won\u2019t run for re-election. <\/p>\n

Whether the \u201cLounging Lizard Cuomo\u201d (\u201cHide and creep,\u201d Aug. 6) resigns or is impeached is of little importance.<\/p>\n

At least the brave women who came forward will have the satisfaction of knowing the \u201cLove Gov\u201d will be a feature attraction in New York\u2019s Sleezeball Hall of Shame.<\/p>\n

Additionally, I have a better chance of becoming president, which I believe was his true aspiration.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, there has been a tragic miscarriage of justice. At minimum, he should have been indicted on at least a thousand counts of manslaughter. <\/p>\n
