Raisner\u2019s orders to \u201creally hit it, hit,\u201d were heard live back in Germany, triggering a wave of criticism.<\/p>\n<p>Raisner herself punched the horse once above the back leg.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Follow_all_the_2020_Olympics_action\"><\/span>Follow all the 2020 Olympics action<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>As Schleu became more desperate and frustrated, the horse became more agitated.<\/p>\n<p>Top ranked Michelle Gulyas and Ireland\u2019s Natalya Coyle suffered similar fates with their horses as they saw their own podium hopes crushed, dropping out of the top 10 and out of contention.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRules must change in such a way so that rider and horse are protected,\u201d Hoermann said. \u201cThe focus must be on the welfare of the animals and the fair competition for athletes.\u201d\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
