This bullish momentum extended further after Bitcoin price surged above $44,000 and at the time of writing Ether trades at $3,050.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-08\/b3ca73f5-f29f-467d-a00f-4b5920bc8b02.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>ETH\/USDT daily chart. Source: <\/em><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/ETHUSDT\/\"><em>TradingView<\/em><\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Now that the network is operating smoothly following its biggest update of the year, here\u2019s a look at what traders and analysts expect next from the top altcoin. <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_close_above_the_weekly_resistance_extends_the_uptrend\"><\/span>A close above the weekly resistance extends the uptrend<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Insight into Ether&#8217;s price action was provided by pseudonymous <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> analyst Rekt Capital, who highlighted the altcoin&#8217;s weekly resistance level as an important hurdle to jump in order to continue the current uptrend. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-08\/b0321abd-6b80-40e7-9d59-f0e596621387.png\"><\/figure>\n<p>According to the chart provided, Ether needs to close above $2,714 to confirm a trend continuation. <\/p>\n<p>Rekt Capital <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rektcapital\/status\/1423288786255945729\">said<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cEther is now at one of its final major higher-timeframe resistances.
