He was 53 years old. As a member of Bad Boy\u2019s in-house production team the Hitmen, he was responsible for some of \u201990s hip-hop and R&amp;B\u2019s biggest hits, including the Notorious B.I.G.\u2019s \u201cBig Poppa\u201d and Faith Evans\u2019 \u201cYou Used to Love Me.\u201d The producer Young Guru first shared the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> of Thompson\u2019s death on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a>, before Thompson\u2019s publicist Tamar Juda also confirmed the news to Pitchfork.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is with a very heavy heart that I can confirm the passing of Chucky Thompson,\u201d Juda said. \u201cTo anyone in his orbit, you know how generous he was with his energy, creativity and love. Both the music industry, and the world has lost a titan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thompson was born in Washington, D.C. on July 12, 1968. One of his earliest gigs was playing in Chuck Brown\u2019s go-go band the Soul Searchers, before connecting with Sean \u201cPuffy\u201d Combs, who had just been fired from Uptown Records and in the process of founding his own label, Bad Boy Records. At 24, Combs asked him to produce a track for <em>My Life,<\/em> the followup to Mary J. Blige\u2019s debut LP <em>What\u2019s the 411?<\/em>; \u00a0Blige was so impressed she asked to have him produced the entire LP, for which he earned a Grammy nomination for Best R&amp;B Album.<\/p>\n<div class=\"Container-ineSfH kZHRTY\"><\/div>\n<p>Over nearly three decades in the industry, he racked up composer and production credits with the likes of Usher, New Edition, TLC, Jennifer Lopez, SWV, Color Me Badd, Mya, and more.
