Who\u2019s the real jackass?<\/p>\n

According to Bam Margera \u2014 a skateboarder and television personality best known as one of the original stars of MTV\u2019s \u201cJackass\u201d series<\/a> \u2014 he claims it\u2019s the entities he\u2019s now suing.<\/p>\n

Margera, 41, filed a lawsuit on Monday against a number of names including longtime co-star Johnny Knoxville<\/a>, director Spike Jonze<\/a> and Paramount \u2014 alleging that he was wrongfully terminated from the forthcoming installment of the \u201cJackass\u201d film franchise, \u201cJackass Forever,\u201d that\u2019s out on Oct. 22, Variety reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Margera was axed last fall after allegedly testing positive for Adderall, which violated a \u201cwellness agreement\u201d he signed. News<\/a> of him being canned became official in February.<\/p>\n

The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court<\/a>, alleges that Knoxville, Jonze and director Jeffrey Tremaine coerced Margera into signing the agreement during a stint in rehab in 2019 \u2014 and that he offered up his John Hancock without any opportunity to have it cleared by an attorney. The agreement stipulated that Margera undergo multiple daily drug tests, both scheduled and unscheduled, and take prescript<\/a>ion medications. If he didn\u2019t go along with it, Margera would be nixed from \u201cJackass Forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

And despite being prescribed Adderall for a decade, the suit charges, he was fired after testing positive for the drug. In one section of the lawsuit, Margera is compared to the ongoing Britney Spears conservatorship case<\/a> \u2014 and it says that he\u2019s become a victim due to his mental health struggles.<\/p>\n

\u201cParamount\u2019s inhumane treatment of Margera cannot be countenanced,\u201d the suit reads. \u201cMargera was made to endure psychological torture in the form of a sham Wellness Agreement, and then ultimately terminated for his protected class status due to his mental condition, and his complaints about Defendants\u2019 discriminatory conduct towards him.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a press release announcing the filing of the lawsuit, Margera said, \u201cI am pissed-off, angry, hurt and shattered that Johnny [Knoxville], Jeff [Tremaine], Spike [Jonze] and the studios and producers ripped off my creativity, content, and stunts to make this movie, fired me without justification, and refuse to pay for my work; I created this franchise before any of these guys ever got involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cMy lawsuit isn\u2019t just about compensation. It\u2019s about treating people with mental health and addiction issues in an honest manner and not taking advantage of their disabilities to rip them off.\u201d<\/p>\n

A lawyer for Knoxville and Jonze did not respond to The Post\u2019s request for comment. Representatives for Tremaine and Paramount also didn\u2019t immedia<\/a>tely respond to a message seeking comment.<\/p>\n

Margera had previously been open about other struggles, including alcoholism \u2014 which he discussed in a 2016 episode of \u201cFamily Therapy With Dr. Jenn\u201d on VH1.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy first drink, I was 21 and I never drank before that,\u201d he said on the show. \u201cWhen I really started drinking, I was probably 24, 25 \u2026 It just slowly became waking up and sipping on a drink as soon as I got up \u2026 one is too many but a thousand is never enough.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2018, Margera was arrested for a DUI and headed to rehab<\/a>. After appearing on \u201cDr. Phil\u201d in 2019, Margera checked back into rehab<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a May interview with GQ<\/a>, Knoxville brought Margera up in discussion. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want to get into public back-and-forth with Bam,\u201d Knoxville told the publication. \u201cI just want him to get better.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
