During his time at the label, he was instrumental in signing the likes of Childish Gambino, Khalid, Brockhampton and Bryson Tiller, while co-founding Keep Cool Records in a joint venture with RCA in 2018. Records (now Warner Records) and Virgin Records before spending seven-and-a-half years at Interscope Records as an A&amp;R. During a 2018 interview with A Tribe Called Quest\u2019s Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Frannie Kelley on the <em><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.frannieandali.com\/home\/2018\/7\/6\/tunji-balogun\">Microphone Check<\/a><\/em> podcast, he talked about the responsibility of creating opportunities in the label system.<\/p>\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\" inserted=\"shortcode\" style=\"margin: 10px 0 11px -10px\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit\u201c300\u201d\" class=\"adUnits\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script>\n                        if(isMobile){\n                            CMNUNT.load(\"content-b\", { \n                                containerid: \"contentUnit\u201c300\u201d\",\n                                keywords: \"section_post_inarticle\",\n                                lazyLoad: true\n                            });\n                        }\n                    <\/script>\u201cI\u2019m doing my best, and I\u2019m trying to pull up more people with me, on both sides, the artist side, executive side,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cTrying to create opportunities for as many talented creatives as I can. I feel like that\u2019s my role. There was a reason why I didn\u2019t end up becoming an artist. It was so that I could go into the system and clear a path for more people. And that\u2019s super important to me. I don\u2019t take it lightly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cThis music matters.
