The first woman to publicly accuse Gov. Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment has confirmed her plans to sue him \u2014 insisting that the powerful politician is still \u201cgaslighting and revictimizing\u201d women.<\/p>\n

\u201cFinally, the world now believes what I have known for years but had been too afraid to reveal: the Governor of New York sexually harassed and abused far too many women, for far too long,\u201d former aide Lindsey Boylan wrote in a blog<\/a> post Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not \u2018our truth.\u2019 It\u2019s\u00a0the<\/em>\u00a0truth,\u201d she said of the 10 other women who came forward after her December tweets about Cuomo\u2019s alleged behavior.<\/p>\n

In her Monday Medium post, Boylan said that \u201cdigesting each line\u201d of the\u00a0scathing 165-page report\u00a0issued by Attorney General<\/a> Letitia James\u2019 office last week was \u201clike swallowing a shard of glass.\u201d<\/p>\n

Boylan was Cuomo\u2019s deputy secretary for economic development and a special advisor from March 2015 through October 2018, according to her LinkedIn profile.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am personally devastated by the accounts of the Governor\u2019s widespread harassment, the scope of the retaliation campaign he waged against me and the efforts by his minions to protect him at all costs,\u201d the ex-aide wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd he continues to abuse us. As recently as Saturday, the Governor sent his attack dogs on national television to accuse me of \u2018lying,’\u201d she added of the governor\u2019s legal team.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is gaslighting and revictimizing us. He is showing everyone what happ<\/a>ens to women when they speak up about harassment and abuse in the workplace,\u201d Boylan, whose bravery at coming forward was highlighted as the inspiration for many of the others to also speak up, wrote.<\/p>\n

Yet \u201cthe Governor\u2019s office continues to use official government channels (funded by taxpayers) to release statements and stage press conferences to spread lies about me and attempt to taint me and other survivors,\u201d she charged.<\/p>\n

Now, Boylan said she intends to sue the Governor and others who were involved in the alleged efforts to smear her.<\/p>\n

\u201cToo many people have been harmed or had their careers destroyed after reporting harassment. Retaliation is unacceptable in any workplace. It revictimizes those who have suffered abuse and it deters people from coming forward,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Boylan compared the Governor\u2019s Executive Chamber to \u201cthe Olympics\u201d because \u201cthere is no place higher to go,\u201d and said the investigation also shined \u201ca light on a system that protects the predator.\u201d<\/p>\n

Boylan said she feels \u201ca deep solidarity\u201d with other alleged victims who have confided in her, writing, \u201cEach of us has a responsibility to keep fighting for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gov. Cuomo has denied the allegations in the explosive report, maintaining after its release that he \u201cnever touched anyone inappropriately.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, there has been intense pressure for him to resign \u2014 including from President Biden.<\/p>\n

But Cuomo clung to his position Tuesday, exactly a week after the damning investigation was released.<\/p>\n

The Rev. Al Sharpton told CNN<\/a> that he spoke to numerous people in Cuomo\u2019s circle over the weekend \u2014 with most amazed that he remained in a \u201cfighting mood.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople around him are looking for what\u2019s the next chapter in their life, I\u2019ll put it that way,\u201d Sharpton told CNN, saying that people were asking, \u201cWhere do I get a job?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI said to them \u2014 I don\u2019t see how he survives,\u201d Sharpton added about his conversations with Cuomo advisers over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Despite these calls from his own staffers to quit, \u201cthe governor is very much focused on getting the evidence from the Assembly and being able to make a submission\u201d to its impeachment process, one of Cuomo\u2019s personal attorneys, Rita Glavin, told CNN on Monday.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
