“#Twitter<\/a> suspends Marjorie Taylor Greene’s account<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Twitter\u00a0has suspended Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene\u2019s personal account for one week following another violation of the platform\u2019s rules over a statement about the COVID-19 vaccine, the company said Tuesday.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Greene (R-Ga.) tweeted that the Food and Drug Administration \u201cshould not app<\/a>rove the covid vaccines.\u201d <\/p>\n

Greene said \u201cthere are too many reports of infection & spread\u201d of COVID-19 even among those who are vaccinated. <\/p>\n

She added that the vaccines \u201care failing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Twitter flagged the tweet as misleading and as a result, locked Greene\u2019s account in \u201cread-only mode for a week.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Tweet<\/a> you referenced was labeled in line with our COVID-19 misleading information policy<\/a>. The account will be in read-only mode for a week<\/a> due to repeated violations of the Twitter Rules,\u201d a spokesperson for the social media company said. <\/p>\n

The FDA should not approve the covid vaccines.<\/p>\n

There are too many reports of infection & spread of #COVID19<\/a> among vaccinated people.<\/p>\n

These vaccines are failing & do not reduce the spread of the virus & neither do masks.<\/p>\n

Vaccine mandates & passports violate individual freedoms.<\/p>\n

The incident is at least the third time Twitter has penalized Greene for sharing misinformation. <\/p>\n

In January, Greene was suspended for 12 hours from Twitter after she posted a tweet questioning the results of the state\u2019s runoff election for Senate.<\/p>\n

Then last month, her account was locked in read-only mode again after two of her tweets about the vaccines were deemed misleading. <\/p>\n

According to the social media giant\u2019s\u00a0COVID-19 vaccine misinformation policy<\/a>\u00a0unveiled in March, 12-hour suspensions are doled out for second and third violations. A fourth violation results in a week\u2019s suspension, while a fifth strike would lead to a ban.<\/p>\n

Violating the COVID-19 policy five or more times can result in a permanent ban.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
