“#Minnie Driver Teases Her Episode ‘Will Make People Cry’<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Modern Love<\/em>\u2018s captivating tales continue with Season 2 on Amazon Prime Video and kicking off the lineup is Minnie Driver\u2018s episode, \u201cOn a Serpentine Road, With the Top Down.\u201d<\/p>\n

Driver\u2019s character engages in an unorthodox relationship as the installment focuses on her bond with a vintage car. But it\u2019s not just the car that draws her in, it\u2019s the place she\u2019s transported when driving.<\/p>\n

\u201cI could see it really clearly,\u201d Driver says of the concept which relates her character\u2019s connection with the car to her late husband (Tom Burke). \u201cIt was [something] that I wanted to watch\u2026 that\u2019s going to make people cry, make them laugh, and make them feel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her character is faced with the impossibility of letting go of her connection when she\u2019s forced to sell the car. The herculean task is definitely fraught within a series<\/a> of conversations as Driver\u2019s character takes the car out for rides and confronts her grief.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just loved that this is where she speaks to this person she loved,\u201d Driver notes. \u201cThis is her portal back to him. There was something so magical, crazy, sad, practical, and beautiful about it, that she\u2019d figured out a way of living her life with this grief.\u201d<\/p>\n

The biggest issue is she didn\u2019t \u201ctell the people in her current life that this was going on,\u201d Driver continues. This adds a layer of misunderstanding from her current husband (Don Wycherley) who is eager to get rid of the car that\u2019s more trouble mechanically than it seems worth.<\/p>\n

And while her character might be going through a tough time with this ordeal, driving the car for this installment came easily for Driver. \u201cYou have to learn on a stick shift in England,\u201d she shares. \u201cSo I\u2019d always driven a stick shift. They\u2019re really sticky and difficult, but amazing when you get them warmed up and going.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the chill of her November shoot, Driver says, \u201cDriving a convertible is so fun, and even though it was freezing, it all sort of added to it.\u201d The actress hopes viewers have just as much fun watching the story unfold.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope they feel relief,\u201d she says. \u201cThat we can share our pain and know that it will be met with love by those people that really understand us. Life does move on [even if] it\u2019s the hardest thing to believe when you lose someone that you love.\u201d<\/p>\n
