After Tommy Boy was acquired by Reservoir <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Media<\/a> earlier this year, the label\u2019s new owners publicly pledged to work with the group and get their music uploaded to streaming services. Now it\u2019s been made official.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have come to a deal between ourselves and Reservoir to release our music in 2021\u2014our catalog will be released this year, we are working diligently with the good folks at Reservoir, and we sat down with them and got it done pretty quickly actually,\u201d Dave \u201cTrugoy\u201d Jolicoeur said. They noted they weren\u2019t \u201cbashing\u201d Tommy Boy founder Tom Silverman. De La Soul\u2019s early catalog was a longtime streaming holdout due to sample clearance issues and the nature of their contract.<\/p>\n<p>In Februrary 2019, the trio claimed that their former record label Tommy Boy was planning to release the catalog on terms that left \u201croughly 90%\u201d of profits to the label. According to Trugoy, Tommy Boy <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"external-link\" data-event-click='{\"element\":\"ExternalLink\",\"outgoingURL\":\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/de-la-soul-streaming-catalog-tommy-boy-801455\/\"}' href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/de-la-soul-streaming-catalog-tommy-boy-801455\/\">agreed<\/a> on a 70 percent share but wanted 20 percent toward a \u201cphantom debt\u201d the group allegedly owed of $2 million.
