Cuomosexual peddlers are losing their shirts.<\/p>\n

Gov. Andrew Cuomo\u2019s resignation in disgrace this week is spelling a crisis for those hawking merchandise to his once-adoring admirers.<\/p>\n

When the 63-year-old politician\u2019s profile soared last year thanks to his daily coronavirus briefings, a flood of merchandise was made to profit on the \u201cCuomosexual\u201d trend \u2014 including T-shirts<\/a>, totes, baseball hats, mugs and even $400 cashmere sweaters<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But by Wednesday many were no longer available, their previous presence at times scrubbed from the internet.<\/p>\n

Some sellers confirmed to The New York Times<\/a> that they had \u2014 or would \u2014 remove their items for sale after being made aware of an investigation concluding that Cuomo had sexually harassed 11 women.<\/p>\n

One Etsy seller even sent the outlet a photo of someone holding a flame to one of her \u201cCuomosexual\u201d T-shirts that she has taken out of her online store.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I created and decided to sell these items, it was meant to be lighthearted and I never thought he would be accused of such outrageous behavior,\u201d Jennifer Powell, 43, from Flower Mound, Texas, told the paper.<\/p>\n

One Redbubble seller said the site had deleted Cuomosexual listings, citing a violation of guidelines. Some items still remained on the site, however.<\/p>\n

An Etsy seller, James Melzer, 43, from Pennsylvania, insisted to the Times that he\u2019d been unaware of the sexual harassment findings \u2014 but removed his \u201cI am a Cuomosexual\u201d items as soon as he was informed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have family members that were sexually assaulted, friends that were. So I take that very seriously,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have no interest in promoting or being associated with that type of behavior,\u201d he told the Times, expressing shock that he had received orders even after the attorney general<\/a>\u2019s report on Cuomo was released.<\/p>\n

New York filmmaker Kely Nascimento-DeLuca, 54, stood by her decision to buy a \u201cCuomosexual\u201d T-shirt in April, even though she would not do so today.<\/p>\n

\u201cI definitely was a \u2018Cuomosexual\u2019 in that moment,\u201d she said. \u201cI feel like it represented a moment in time.\u201d<\/p>\n

While \u201cCuomosexual\u201d designs were fast disapp<\/a>earing, one line still remained for sale<\/a> \u2014 T-shirts, posters and mugs that declared Cuomo \u201cthe worst Governor in America.\u201d\n <\/div>\n
